OCI (Because, no one ever calls it Goal Post Tavern):
When are they going to give up on being called that? But that’s neither here, nor there. If your favorite bar in Knoxville is OCI you could be drunken fraternity boy having a guy’s night watching a sporting event with a big gulp in one hand and a pool stick in another. You definitely have discovered the magic of their Big Gulp mixed drinks. $9. Totally worth it.
Hanna’s:
If your favorite bar is Hanna’s, you’re most likely from the Nashville area. I mean, it’s literally a high school reunion for the 2011-2012 graduating classes of all Nashville area schools. This is the bar that you see “everyone who’s anyone” and you’re guaranteed have a good time. You’re also guaranteed to run into that person you hate from high school, but it’s the price you’ll have to pay for a Walk Me Down. (Personally, I think it’s worth it.) You are usually only seeing the older crowd here. However, despite the strict age limit, you’re still going to see some foolish 21-year-olds making poor decisions. (I blame the Walk Me Downs.)
Jack and Diane’s:
If this is your favorite bar in Knoxville, you’re probably super fun. You also probably like to get really drunk and do some embarrassing things, which I wholeheartedly support, of course. J & D’s is new to the strip, but since it’s grand debut during Summer 2014, they’ve been a hit. They have a fantastic array of “put-you-on-your-a$$” drinks and their entertainment can’t be beat. Their dueling pianos and renditions of the greatest hits are fabulous, but what’s even better is the guarantee you’re going to see someone make a fool of themselves by singing a Shania Twain or Cher number on stage.
Cool Beans:
If your favorite bar is Cool Beans you’re definitely pretty down to earth. Cool Beans is the kind of place you’re able to go in a t-shirt and leggings and down a thousand calorie Bushwhacker without a care in the world. There are usually a plethora of men within Cool Beans’ walls and you’re likely to catch a sporting event on one of their televisions. You might also see a plethora of girlfriends that were dragged there to watch said sporting event checking their Instagram every five minutes and drinking their G&T at a rapid pace. If you love Cool Beans, you probably enjoy a variety of arcade games that they offer, or maybe you’re obsessed with Peyton Manning and have been dying to see him walk through those smoky doors ever since that alleged spotting a few years ago.
Half Barrel:
I’m gonna go ahead and say it: I don’t know any one who considers this their favorite bar. It is actually really neat on the inside and they have a cool seating area in the back, however if you wander into HB it’s probably for two reasons. A) You’re on a pub-crawl and there’s nowhere else to go or, B) You’re way too drunk and you are lost. However, if you ever do find yourself lost there: check out the beer selection. It’s really fantastic.
