What Donald Trump Supporters Don't Get

I have yet to meet a Donald Trump supporter that can actually tell me why they support Donald Trump.

I could write article after article on Donald Trump. I could tell you he's a racist. I could tell you he's a bigot. I could tell you he's not a politician. I could tell you he has no experience in potentially running a country. I could tell you he's a hypocrite. I could tell you he has no plans to do anything he wants to do. I could tell you he's demeaning toward women, and Muslims, and Mexicans, and African Americans and any other minority. I could tell you HE'S AN IDIOT. All things that are true, proven and 100% able to be backed up by facts.

But, we know all these things. If you have been listening to the election at all or even care about our country you know these things. Here's where my confusion lies—I have yet to meet a Donald Trump supporter that can tell me why they support Donald Trump. Now let me break it down for those of you who don't understand what I'm saying. I have yet to meet ANYONE that can tell me reasons they support Donald Trump and think he is equipped to run our country.

Here I have a challenge for you: find someone who has "Make America Great Again" in their bios on Instagram or on a lawn sign in their yard and sit them down and ask the question, "Why do you support Donald Trump?" and you will get a blank stare. They will look at you like you just stumped them with the toughest question since their 9th grade economics class. Because I have yet to talk to anyone who supports him and can't tell me why without mentioning Hillary Clinton. Now if you ask me why I support Hillary Clinton, I can give you a laundry list and never once mention Donald Trump's name—yet a majority of people cannot do that without saying, "Well he's not Hillary."

Tell me Donald Trumps plan for taxes. His plan for defeating ISIS? His plan to reduce gun violence? His plan to get military vets off the streets? His plan to raise the minimum wage? His plan to help Planned Parenthood? His plan to stop the race division? His plan to streamline immigration? His plan to help global warming? His plan to take on climate control? His plan for North Korea? His plan for the Middle East? His plan to be a decent human being and not call Mexicans racists, or to tell a Muslim American solider he deserved to die, or treat women with dignity or deal with nuclear weapons?

Donald Trump has NO plans to do any of those things—the only plan he has right now is to not release his tax returns (which every nominee since the '70s has done) and continue to say outlandish things until he can no longer think of rude things to say. If the tone of this piece is angry, that's because it is. It's because, I, like many Americans, am offended. I'm offended I have waited 18 years to vote and this is what I have to look at every day on TV. I'm offended that he could potentially be representing me as an American.

Ask me why I support Hillary Clinton and I will write you an essay. Ask a Trump supporter why they support Trump and you'll get a nasty glare, a disapprovingly over-privileged smile, and a "Make America Great Again" tribal chant.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
