1. Explore more
Whether your destination of choice be a grand hiking trail in your state or the new supermarket that just opened downtown- it is always a good idea to expand your horizons. New environments may get you out of your comfort zone, which ultimately help you grow as a person leading to long-term happiness.
2. Surround yourself with people who love you
As my mother always used to say, “You have to weed your garden.” This meaning, it is okay to drop people in your life who do not uplift you, inspire you or influence you to be a better person and to surround yourself with those who do. When you
3. Stay active
This will help you physically feel better as well as emotionally. It is a great stress reliever and keeps your body in prime condition to prevent serious health problems such as cardio vascular disease.
4. Sleep more
When you sleep well, you feel good. You will not be spending your time falling asleep during class; you will have more energy to do the things you have always wanted to do. Also, getting the right amount of sleep is extremely beneficial to your health.
5. Stay organized
They say that your room is a reflection of your mental state. For me, my room is usually a mess. However, if you decide to buckle down one day and clean it up, you will thank yourself in the long run and this will make it easier to maintain that clean slate.
6. Try not to care what others think
Yes, I realize this is close to impossible but can be accomplished by focusing on you or distracting yourself with other activities. Know who you are and where you stand as a person and do not let anyone else tear you down.

Get off the couch and do something fun. The world is filled with endless opportunities; you just have to find the niche in which you belong. This can be anything from making mosaics to biking down a mountain. Do not limit yourself or be afraid to try new things.
8. Don’t give up / follow your dreams
This is the key to long-term happiness. If you end up doing something you love, you will not have to work a day in your life. Find something you love, set a goal, and chase after it no matter what.
9. Know that whatever you are going through shall pass
Time heals all. Whether you are going through a break up, a friend of yours passed away, or you just are going through that seasonal depression, know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The saying, “This too, shall pass” holds true.
10. Love yourself
Tell that criticizing voice in your head to stop ripping you down and start building you up. There is nothing wrong with loving yourself and having confidence in who you are. When you truly love yourself, not only will your relationship with yourself improve, but your relationships with others.
