At some point in your life you must have created a bucket list. Whether it was all in your head saying "one day I want to do that" or if you compulsively made a 200 item long lists with pictures and check boxes. Your bucket list can even be goals you have set for yourself. Now that you are a semi-grown up (can you really say you're a grown up when you still live with your parents) you can start doing adventurous things. So save up all your money and get your pen ready to check some boxes. These are the basics for a twenty-somethings bucket list.
Fall in love.
This is the ultimate bucket list item. Everyone is dying to be in love -- at least the people that haven't already. We want that weak in the knees, can't keep your hands off each other, scared to say "I love you" first love. For those of us who have loved and lost, we would be happy with the cute boy from our English class buying us Starbucks.
Join Greek life.
This may be the most cliche college thing to do, but it can change your life. This may not be for everyone, but it is worth the try. Greek life is more than T-shirts, chants, and bigs, and littles. It is having people around you who share the same values. Having people to push you to be better and to strive to do better. Having people to help guide you to become the person you are meant to be. The people you meet will forever change your life. So take a risk and go to that information table, what can it hurt?
Visit far off lands.
Travel the world. Make new experiences. Start a new adventure. Visit Ireland. Paris. Bahamas. Australia. Greece. Bora Bora. London. Thailand. Do it before you have too many commitments.
Move out of your parents' place.
As nice as a home cooked meal and friendly face to come home to is, you really need to leave the nest. Moving out is when you will really feel like your becoming your own person.
Go to Disney.
Yes, even twenty somethings can still want to go to Disney. It's the most magical place on earth. Who doesn't want to experience that?
Get a tattoo.
This is a serious commitment. Not like telling your boyfriend of four months that you love him kind of commitment. But rather the "this is going to stay on your body for the rest of your life" commitment. Make it personal. Make it mean something. Make it something you are passionate about.
Finish all the Netflix series you want to watch.
Netflix can be a dangerous thing! Once we start one series, it's endless nights of staying up to finish another season. But then we find another series we want to watch. We all have the long list of shows that we want to watch. From the classics: "90201," "Gossip Girl," and "Law and Order SVU," to the new Netflix originals: "Orange is the New Black," "House of Cards," and "Hemlock Grove." So make a list and follow through with it!
Study abroad.
Do something out of your comfort zone. Take a leap and spend a year in another country. Even if you are a home body and couldn't imagine leaving home for that long, you can do study tours. Your family will be happy to have you gone for two weeks! Immerse yourself into culture. It is then that we can truly see how amazing humanity is.
Get caught up on sleep.
Get that big comfy blanket. Shut off your phone. Sleep till you can't sleep no more! Or, at least till your roommate wakes you up.
Graduate college.
It may take four years, it may take five. Some may even graduate in three years if they are over achievers (props to you). But graduating college is going to be the most rewarding experience of your life. All those late night study sessions and quick five minute meltdowns between classes will all be worthwhile when you can hold your diploma in your hands.
Have a real job.
This may mean that you can't wear jeans and a nice shirt, anymore. You will need look presentable every day. But getting that fat paycheck will make all those long hours worth while.
Say “I Do.”
You can start planning your wedding on Pinterest right now. But the ultimate goal is to stand in front of the all the people you love and say "I do" to your soulmate.
Have children.
Three girls, two boys. Family photos and corny matching shirts. Having children will be the happiest moments of our lives. This is a must have for the bucket list!
Be happy.
This is the most important! In life we have our good days and our bad. But our good days should always outweigh the bad. Happiness is the true key to success.
Have your college loans paid off.
This might seem far fetched, but a girl can hope!
