People who don’t suffer with anxiety and or depression, they mean well when they say don’t let it bother you. Because that’s what they wish you could do. They wish it was that easy for you. I still think my parents believe saying that to me every day will make me just get better, that nothing will bother me. I have been in a mental unit, in a mental institution, and undergoing therapy since January. I have literally worked my ass off to get myself to the point I am at. I work, go to school, have a social life, and deal with my two diseases all day, every day.
People who have lived privileged lives, they have an entirely different world view. I am not saying they don’t have to deal with stress and problems. They just don’t understand not everyone grew up the way they did. And when they see people who have to work their asses off to get to the point they are, the find them weak. Basically, I’m an easy target.
But, how messed up is that? How people need to belittle, harass, and bully people to make themselves feel better about themselves? It is the world we live in. Look at Donald Trump, he belittles and makes fun of his opponents, so he can look better. Since when does the perspective leader of your country do the same thing that middle schooler's do? It makes me so sad knowing that my whole life, I will be the person people like Donald Trump are making fun of, no matter how much I work and how much i succeed.
So in conclusion, I am just going to keep going to school on my full ride scholarship. I’m going to keep being a government employee at the age of 22. And I am sure as HELL going to show everyone who belittled me, harassed me, bullied me, I am going to show them that if they spent have the time they wasted on me on furthering their lives, they would be where I am. After all, if people aren't talking about you, you aren't doing something right!
