The Best Trump Political Ad You Haven't Seen

Japan finally feels the need to weigh in on the American 2016 election.

It is no secret that other countries are well aware of Donald Trump, his campaign and his policies. However, because the election is American, they have no reason to advertise him in their commercials. He has no political campaigns that should be circulating overseas. However, Japan in all its wonderful satire, created their own Trump campaign commercial.

The amount of under-handed sarcasm in this ad could scar even the hardest satirist. Upon initial viewing of the video, there is a Japanese girl whose room is covered in Donald Trump paraphernalia. She has drawn pictures of him and has a human-sized cardboard cutout of him standing in the corner of her room. The first thought of the commercial might be that it's in favor of Trump. After his portrait winks at our Japanese fan girl, an ad pops up on her television saying that Trump is running for 'President of the World' and has officially been elected.

This was particularly funny to me because that’s a joke that I make about him quite often: he thinks by becoming POTUS he will have control over the rest of the world and the decisions they make as well. As the commercial goes on, Trump’s face is literally everywhere, much like a dictator. You see his face on the side of various buildings and hanging off the trees like a piece of ripe fruit. Suddenly, you start to feel the heavy irony as tanks and missiles begin to come out of the ground. Trump (well a guy with Trump’s head superimposed onto his body) pelvic thrusts at the world as if to say "screw you." Then he turns into a robot. Yes, a robot. Of course it wouldn’t be a Trump ad without the appearance of that wall that he is dead-set on building between America and Mexico. As the wall is built, he flies into outer space and shoots a giant laser at Earth, destroying it.

To clarify, this signifies the imminent destruction of the planet that will happen if Trump is allowed to take office. With the number of nuclear weapons available to each country, all it takes is one small disagreement, or one very soft blow to Donald Trump’s fragile ego and a push of a button to end our existence forever. Japan gets it, Trump as president equals bad things. They just know how to put it lightly.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
