The shooting guard in the NBA is, most of the time, the go-to scorer on the team depending on the roster and who the coach is. This is the player who usually does most of the team's scoring and a player the team can depend on when they need them the most. Players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were great shooting guards, as players grow up saying they want to be like them. In the NBA, there are a bunch of great shooting guards. There are a select few that are the elite of the shooting guard group. Today, I will list the Top five shooting guards in the NBA heading into this season. Let's get started with the list at number five!

5. Dwayne Wade (Raise your hand if you are the reason LeBron won his first two rings.)

At number five is Dwayne Wade, the man who was the Miami Heat since 2003, but is now playing for his hometown Chicago Bulls. In the regular season, he averaged 19 points, he shot 45.6% from the field, and shot 15.9% from three point range. In the playoffs, he averaged 21.4 points, shot 46.9% from the field, and shot 52.2% from three point range. Wade is now 34 years old and he isn't what he used to be, but he still gets the ball in the basket. After not agreeing with the Heat on negotiations, he decided to go play for his hometown Bulls. He is joining a very different Bulls team from last year. Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah have left to the Knicks while Pau Gasol headed to the Spurs. Wade has joined a new look Bulls team with Jimmy Butler as their franchise player and Rajon Rondo running the point guard position for them. It will be very interesting to see Wade not wear a Heat jersey. There were questions about who is the main player for the Bulls as a sign of respect Dwyane and Rajon agreed that it is Jimmy Butler's team. I guarantee that almost every NBA fan has their calendars circled for the first time the Bulls play the Heat this season. I'm looking forward to seeing how Dwayne responds to see the team that drafted him on the other side of the court.

4. DeMar DeRozan (Bismack Biyombo left us to sign with the Magic?)

The next player on the list at number four is Toronto Raptors very own DeMar Derozan. He is entering the season with a new and very rich contract with the Raptors. In the regular season, he averaged 23.5 points, shot 44.6% from the field, and shot 33.8% from three point range. During the playoffs, he averaged 20.9 points, he shot 39.4% from the field, and 15.4% from three point range. DeMar is one half of one of the best backcourts in the league, alongside point guard Kyle Lowry. This year he received his first ever all star selection with teammate Kyle Lowry. DeRozan was a huge part in Toronto's best season yet, as he helped lead the Raptors alongside Kyle Lowry to the eastern conference finals but fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games. Toronto will look to have even a better season than last year. The future of Toronto looks bright as long as DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry are at the top of their game.

3.Jimmy Butler (I finally got rid of Derrick Rose (Evil Laugh).)

At the three spot is Chicago Bulls franchise player Jimmy Butler. He is one of the league's best defensive players as he looks to lead a new look Bulls team that has added Rajon Rondo and Dwayne Wade. He will be the leader of this team going forward with the Bulls trading away Derrick Rose and watching Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol leave via free agency. In the regular season, he averaged 20.9 points, shot 45.4% from the field, and shot 31.2% from three point range. Sadly, the Bulls didn't make the playoffs despite Butler's efforts but they will be looking to rebound from a shaky season with their new acquisitions. To me Jimmy Butler is the best shooting guard in the eastern conference in the NBA and he will only continue to be better. NBA fans will look to see how Jimmy will lead this team and i believe he will do a good job doing that.

2. James Harden (You guys really expect me to play defense?)

Up next at number two is the greatest defender in NBA history James Harden. Just kidding guys, this man is a great offensive threat but his defense could use some work. He is known for playing lazy defense. He literally lets his matchup go right by him without moving an inch. In the regular season, he averaged 29 points, shot 43.9% from the field, and 35.9% from three point range. In the playoffs he averaged 26.6 points, shot 41% from the field, and 31.% from three point range. The Rockets went from playing the western conference to barely making the playoffs as an eighth seed. A lot of people are blaming James Harden for the Rockets downfall which caused Dwight Howard to leave to the Atlanta Hawks in free agency. All eyes will be on James Harden next season to see if he can lead this Rockets team to a better season.

1. Klay Thompson (Raise your hand if you carried Steph Curry in the playoffs.)

At number one is, who I believe, is the best two-way player in the league, Klay Thompson. This man can carry the scoring load for a team as well as lock up the best player on the opposing team. In the regular season, he averaged 22.1 points, shot 47% from the field, and 42.5% from three point range. In the playoffs, he averaged 24.3 points, 44.4% from the field, and 42.4% from three point range. In the playoffs, when Stephen Curry was injured, Klay led the team until Steph came back. Also, he was the main reason why the Warriors came back from a 3-1 deficit to reach the NBA finals. I believe that Klay's production will go down because of the acquisition of Kevin Durant, but the Warriors will be the team to beat this upcoming season, as they have been marked as villains. Klay will continue to be the best shooting guard in the NBA and play at a high and consistent level this season.

There are my top five shooting guards entering the season! The upcoming season will have quite a bit of excitement to look forward to! Hopefully these guys will bring their A-game every time they step onto the court.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
