1. Make more time for your family. They are the people that will always be by your side.

2. You won't keep in contact with all of your friends now when you go off to college. You're going to meet so many new people at college. Everyone is going to travel in different paths and that's okay.

3. Don't stress about the small stuff. Focus on the bigger picture and goal.

4. No matter where you go there will always be bullies. Don't let it get to you. Live your life the way you want to and don't be afraid to break the social norm.

5. Study and get in a habit of good behavior. You'll be on your own in college so it's important to adopt these skills early.

6. Take care of your health. Getting enough sleep and eating enough vegetables is very important for success.

7. It is okay to fail an exam. It is not the end of the world, I promise.

8. Visit your relatives if they're relatively close to home, especially if you're going far away for college.

9. Don't tell your parents you hate them. It is very hard to raise children. Always remember they are looking out for you. They've been to high school so yes they do know a thing or two about growing up.

10. There is more to life than where the next party is.

11. Stop comparing yourself to others. You are your own person and should embrace that.

12. Take responsibility for your actions and own up to your decisions. Everything has a consequence.

13. Your words can and will hurt others. Sometimes a simple comment can leave a mark on someone's life forever.

14. Your words can also help others. Stand up for someone who is being bullied, compliment someones outfit, or even say hi to someone new.

15. Enjoy your time in High School even though it can seem like a pain. The time will fly by quicker than you think.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
