1. You won't miss high school.
As much as you think you might miss it, high school finds its place in the past and that's okay!
2. Although you're eager to move away, you will miss your family.
Sometimes, you are so homesick you could cry. I wish I could've cherished my last summer home before school just a little more. I never realized how far away college can feel from home.
3. Cafe food gets so old. So quick.
Seriously... so indulge in the Qdoba once in a while. It'll keep you sane.
4. What you think you want to do will likely not be what you end up doing.
I completely changed my career path, and that was super scary. But now I fit right in and feel so much happier.
5. Your freshman year roommates either become your best friends or worst enemies.
I hit the jackpot with my roommates. Some people aren't so lucky, but those horror stories are the rarity!
6. You will never be prepared for the stress you feel during mid-terms and finals week.
You feel like you are drowning in notes, haven't showered in 2 days, and have been living off of mac 'n cheese.
7. There will be all-nighters. Lots of them.
Refer to #6... you will still feel that way.
8. Even though school is stressful, take time for yourself.
Stop doing homework for 1 hour, take a shower. Go get your nails done. Buy that new lipstick.
9. Don't be afraid to try new things (classes, food, parties, etc.)
You might find something new you really enjoy.
10. You will always be broke, but can still afford pizza every Friday night.
It's like college voodoo; there's somehow always just enough money for 3 a.m. pizza.
11. You will create more memories in one year than you did the four in high school.
12. It really is the best time of your life.
What they say is so true, time flies faster than ever, but it's amazing.
13. You will miss your dog. A lot.
I once talked to my dog on the phone I missed him so much.
14. Professors are way more understanding than high school teachers.
Email them, go to office hours, talk with them before class. They are extremely resourceful.
15. Don't forget to have a life outside of school too.
School is important but you have to find a balance between school life and social life.
