The Top 15 Things That Happened At Lee This Semester
@lynnseyylou

From the unpredictable weather of Cleveland to the history made at Dorm Wars, this semester has been one to remember. Now that it has come to an end, let's take a look back...

1. The Great Flood... Or should I say, The Great Floods.

Lee Weather has been insane this semester as usual. After some of the storms we've had this fall, you would think that the sky would never be able to cry again... Somehow, though, it always finds more water to pour on our campus. It might not be a bad idea to add some rain gear and maybe even a boat to your Christmas list so that you're prepared for next semester...

2. Jordan Smith on "The Voice"

Jordan Smith has blown the world away with his talent. He even topped Adele on the iTunes chart! Like the real Adele! How cool! Keep up the great work, Jordan! We are all 100% behind you! #TeamJordan

3. The Shooting Threat

Lee University made headlines when a student made an anonymous threat on Yik-Yak. Everyone was on high alert. An individual did confess and shortly after, professors took to social media and asked that we keep the young man in our prayers.

4. The WiFi Apocalypse

It was just a normal Thursday at Lee University. Classes were in session, Chick-fil-A was serving chicken, and the Eternal Flame was glowing brightly. Everything was wonderful until the WiFi went out! Panic ensued. No one knew what to do. I mean, when in doubt everyone knows you turn to Netflix, but that wasn't even an option! We all hoped it would be an easy fix, but then we received news that nothing could be done until a special part came in. Devastation took over, but God is good and the great people in the IT department had us online the next morning. Man, I still have nightmares about that night...

5. Clark Beckham Reunion Concert

In September, our American Idol came back to mama for a big homecoming celebration. He rocked the Conn Center, took pictures with all of us, and got us free food! Side note... That fried chicken the Caf made tasted like God, Himself, cooked it. It was delicious! Thanks for coming, Clark. You are always invited to come back home!

6. This Year It Counts

We did it! We survived the transition phase and became an official member of the NCAA Division Two! Our athletes are already blowing away the competition with their talent! It sure is great to be a part of #FlameNation!

7. Hucks for Heroes

In July, five service men lost their lives when a man opened fire at two military related locations Chattanooga. Chattanooga Police Officer Dennis Pedigo was also shot, but luckily He survived. Student Derek Murray and his incredible team put on a 90-hour ultimate frisbee game they called Hucks for Heroes to raise money for the families that the service men left behind and for Officer Pedigo. They even broke a world record in the process. Events like this make me proud to be a Lee student.

8. This looks like a job for... a helicopter.

Who knew you could use a helicopter to dry a soccer field? I honestly had no idea. Twitter went crazy when Lee called in the reinforcements to help get the field dry before the Flames hosted the University of West Florida in a playoff game. I have to say, it was quite a sight!

9. Sodexo Changing Their Ways

The Bible says, "Ask and you shall receive," so a Lee student asked President Paul Conn if we could change the meal plan. Thankfully, Conn said yes! Starting in January, you will be able to use five meals a day! Plus you won't have to wait two hours between meal swipes anymore!

10. Dorm Wars

Once a year, Lee students battle it out to prove their dorm is the best one on campus. This year the men of Medlin Hall dethroned the four-time consecutive champs, Bowdle- O' Bannon, and took home the beautiful trophy. On the girls side, Storms Hall and their partner in crime, Brinsfield Row, made history when they won the whole shebang for the first time ever! The night was epic!

11. Sassy Paul Conn

@SassyPaulConn has taken over Twitter with their pictures of everyone's favorite president, Paul Conn, inserted into random pictures. If you haven't followed the account yet, then you seriously need to change that ASAP!

12. Lee U Snapchat Filter

All I can say is thank you, Cassidy Kelley! Thank you!

13. The Case of the Missing Umbrellas

Remember when Paul Conn called the student body out because some students stole the yellow umbrellas from Homecoming... Shout out to the one person who actually got theirs the right way!

14. Ask The President

Lee University's version of "Oprah's Favorite Things."

15. Lee got its own Odyssey page!

Woot woot! Now students have a platform where they can share their thoughts, opinions, and tips in an incredible way! Speaking of, if you want to join our staff, go here!

Welp, it's been fun, folks! Here's to a great Spring 2016 semester!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
