To the woman who captures my best friend’s heart, here is the guidebook to how he works. First and foremost, when he says and I quote “I got this” immediately think of a secret backup plan. And if you can’t because the situation is so whack (and there will be plenty of those), mentally prepare yourself for the chaos soon to follow.
To my best friend’s girlfriend, I recommend rolling with the punches versus vocalizing your opinion especially over what will seems like small stuff (i.e. burning mattresses at 1 a.m.). Most of his ideas after midnight backfire, and there’s not much prevention that can be done.
To the woman who captures my best friend’s heart, he will change his mind about five times and more than likely choose the first decision. As the girlfriend, you will hear each story, idea, or plan more than a dozen times. He will be just as excited the 12th time reciting a story as the first time, even if you stopped laughing long ago.
To the woman who holds my best friend’s heart, don’t be offended if he doesn’t remember your birthday, favorite color, or best memory because I’m fairly certain he doesn’t know his own.
My best friend won’t be able to buy new jewelry for you every week, or ever honestly. He won’t understand the importance of attending your best friend’s wedding with you, nor the desire to take pictures before significant events. He will take care of and love you, though.
Life with my best friend is an adventure full of unconditional love, memories that will last a life time, stories that no one will believe if they weren’t present, and of course tears, stress, and laughter.
I may be biased, but I believe being by my best friend’s side will be the best adventure of your life. Together you will face hardships, cross unstable bridges, and jump rivers you never dreamt existed. And if you ever find yourself asking “why” then I suggest walking away. Don’t waste time if you second guess anything. A part of being in his life is realizing love trumps all questions of logic.
To the woman who holds the key to my best friend’s heart, you will
learn so much about life, love, and yourself in a short period of time.
Being by my best friend’s side, you will experience life to the fullest.
He will make you laugh when you can’t see the light at the end tunnel.
My best friend will teach you not sweat to the small stuff. He will love
you at your worst and never fail to make sure to hand a hairbrush to
you when needed.
And lastly, don’t sweat the small stuff.
Because when you take a step back and laugh at how crazy life is with him, you’ll realize these insane activities at absurd times actually make life more fun and it’s one of the reasons you love him.
