At some point in life, everyone is faced with a bitter punch in the gut from someone who tells you you are not good enough. Whether it is a teacher, friend, family member, stranger, or even yourself. It brings doubt, anxiety, and dejection to all the goals you hope to one day accomplish. However, one thing this person does is give you drive and determination. Here is a list of everything you wish you could say to that person.
1. Why?
What makes you so inclined to put someone down? I already know life isn't easy and I know it takes hard work to get where I want to be. So, I ask you, why would you make me feel like I can't when I already have doubts myself?
2. Your words hurt.
It may come as a shock to you, but what comes out of your mouth actually makes an impact. I will forever remember them and they will be what drives me to achieve all of my goals.
3. I'm going to prove you wrong.
Your harsh words have inspired me. I will admit that I wanted to cry when I first heard your denial, but now I use them to give me motivation. I hope one day you'll be able to see all that I have accomplished because of you.
4. I wish I hated you.
I should hate you for tearing me down, but instead I appreciate you for making me stronger.
5. What's your problem?
What makes you so inclined to be so cruel? I never did anything to you. It takes more energy to be mean than it does to be nice, everyone knows that.
6. I don't need you.
Take you and your opinion somewhere far far away. I don't need it anyways.
7. I feel sorry for you.
Your life must be really tough to feel the need to shove your negativity onto others. I hope it gets better for you.
8. You make me laugh.
Your pessimism makes me laugh. It's an ugly trait to have.
9. Does it make you feel good about yourself?
If it makes you feel better about yourself then you do you, but I don't agree with your ways of living.
10. I hope you achieve everything you want to in life.
Unlike you, I am a very positive person who wishes the best for people. I hope you achieve all your goals and complete everything you want to do in life.
11. Thank you.
When it comes down to it, I wish I could thank you. Thank you for making me who I am today. You have made me believe in myself more than I ever have. I know one day I will prove you wrong, but until then, I will continue to push myself to the best of my abilities. Thank you for being the person who said I wasn't good enough.
