To The Girl Who Is Struggling With Self-esteem

I know it feels like you'll never be good enough or you'll never stand up to society's standards. You shouldn't have to stand up to society's standards either. We live in an ugly world and grew up in a generation where expectations are set way too high. Guys care more about your appearance than what's on the inside and girls only want to be your friend if you agree with what they say and do.

That guy that left you for the not-so-great girl? He did you a favor. It was his loss and your gain. Look at it this way, you're now one step closer to finding your true Prince Charming. I would say Knight and Shining Armor, but us girls are independent and don't need one of those. Oh, and that guy that won't give you the time of day? Sister, that's a blessing in disguise. God is saving you from someone that you probably shouldn't waste any of your time on. I promise you, there's better out there, so don't get caught up on a guy who's gonna mess with your confidence in the end.

The girls you consider popular won't always be considered popular. Keep this in mind as you go through school and life in general. My desire to be a popular kid has died throughout the years, and can I just say...I'm so glad it did. I've come to realize that being friendly with everyone is a lot better than being apart of a group who is purposely mean to others. I'd rather have a small group of friends who really care for me than a big group of friends who talk badly about me behind my back.

If you want to eat a whole pizza by yourself, you go for it girl. I'll probably go buy myself one and sit with you while I eat mine. If you want to dye your hair lime green, do it! I personally think that's really cool, as long you ask parent's permission first. If you want to try out for the school cheerleading team, what's stopping you? If those mean girls tell you that you won't make it...go in there and show them what you've got. Can't hurt to try, right? If you don't get asked to the homecoming dance, bring a group of friends and slay everyone there. When you feel your self-esteem dropping, turn some music up and dance in your mirror until you can't breathe and get that smile off your face. Pink Radio on Pandora is a personal favorite.

Life is what you make it. So do whatever makes you happy, wear whatever makes you happy, and be whoever makes you happy.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
