Things To Remember As A Teenage Girl

Being a teenage girl is only as hard as you make it.

Things To Remember As A Teenage Girl

Being a teenage girl can seem like the hardest job in the world sometimes. However, it's not. Just your perspective on situations you may go through and how you handle them can make things better.

1. Someone starting a rumor about you is not the end of the world.

So the mean girl of the class started a nasty rumor about you? You'll be okay. Just think about it this way -- there's a good chance that whoever started the rumor is jealous of you and this was their desperate attempt at trying to dull your shine. So don't let them, keep your head held high and remember that rumors die just as quickly as your fifth grade goldfish did.

2. That guy that told you he loved then dumped you a week later is NOT the love of your life.

Okay, so you have this guy that you're head over heels for and you just can't seem to get over him. He will break your heart over and over again yet you keep giving him chance after chance. Trust me, I've been there and so has every other girl... and we all feel your pain. I promise you that he's nothing more than a high school fling and there's better out there.

3. One fight with your best friend will not ruin the friendship all together.

So it's completely natural to fight with your best friend. She's like your sister and you're going to argue 24/7. If you're anything like my best friend and I, you'll be over it within in a matter of days if not hours. Remember that an apology can go a long way even if you feel you aren't in the wrong.

4. Gossiping and posting all of your problems on social media is not cute or classy.

So I'll admit, I've done this exact thing and take it from me, you'll regret it sooner or later. I know it's hard to keep from subtweeting or vague-booking that one person that made you mad. I promise, it's better to just turn your phone off. If you don't, everyone will know your business and there's a good chance that people are laughing at your burning desire for attention.

5. Be a genuinely kind person and have respect for everyone.

My biggest pet peeve is when someone uses "I'm just being honest" as an excuse to say mean and hurtful things to another. Not everything that runs through your mind should be spoken. It's okay to keep things to yourself from time to time. Being a kind-hearted person will get you far in life. Just because someone might not be brave enough to step up to you in high school does not mean you won't meet your match in the real word.

6. Love yourself, don't worry about what others think, and just be you.

There is always going to be someone judging you in high school. Both guys and gals will pick out your imperfections and wait for you to mess up. One thing I learned is to just continue doing you and learning from your mistakes. You won't be genuinely happy if you try to adjust yourself to society's standards. Your true friends will love you for who you are and that's all that matters.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
