Why do boys STILL tend to assume girls are as dumb as a bag of rocks?
It's not the lie that bothers me. It's the insult to my intelligence that I find offensive.
And for a boy to make a girl sit there and think "why aren't I good enough" or "what's wrong with me" is absolutely soul destroying.
In this world, we have to prove that we're capable, and if we don't, it's naturally presumed that we simply can't.
To you, we're dumb until we help finish your homework...then, you STILL think we're dumb because we took time out of our (probably busy) day to help youwithout asking for anything in return. You look to us for sex and a good time, but when it comes to anything serious we're nothing more than a joke to you.
Why?
Women CAN be influential and confident and insanely capable.
We are deeply passionate about everything that we do.
We don't expect perfection from ourselves or those around us.
Women often become the boss...and then men take that personally because again, they think they could do it better.
Successful women express gratitude to those around them and know how to foster genuine relationships.
Successful women are the shit.
Women shouldn't feel ashamed if we don't know every little detail about everything.
Being upfront and asking questions is the easiest way to get something done correctly. It doesn't diminish one's talents to be curious and have a desire to know more information. By asking questions, we are creating the perception that we intend to deliver and thrive with our results.
Therefore, I'm formally vowing to teach my daughter less about fitting into glass slippers and more about shattering the glass ceilings our world so carelessly looks past.
A successful woman is a woman that can build a foundation with the bricks that others threw at her. No excuses. No complaints. They simply wake up and kill it.
Successful women are the energy you want to attract, so honestly...accept the fact that a girl CAN succeed in this world. Let her flourish and watch her deface this social construct.
Mama said there'd be boys like you...those that especially love to tear our hearts in two.
And that's when I realized, you're not that fucking great.
