I want to thank you. Through all of these years, you're the one who stuck by my side through everything. From 5th grade all the way to our college years; you were there through all my awkward stages and my awful haircut when I first moved to your school (where everyone feared me for whatever reason I still don't understand).
We've built so many amazing memories and I'm grateful for you for more reasons than just one. Your family took me in as if I were one of their own and I love them as if they gave birth to me (haha). Thank you for being the one to keep in contact with me throughout my many moves. Even though sometimes it was a challenge to make time for each other, and still is with us both being in college, we figure it out. You'd think it'd be easier now because we both have a driver's license, but that isn't the case at all. Thank you for always giving me a shoulder to cry on and someone to vent to when I don't know who else to turn to.
From our first few days together, to 5th-grade graduation, to all of the memories we created in middle school. To the Country Throwdown concert we went to and the many plans we've made through the years. You're the one who has kept me on my feet. I'm so thankful that through all of the time we spent apart, I was able to take you on your first real vacation. It was honestly the best summer of my life and I hope we get to do that again one day. You've been more like a sister to me through the many years we've known each other and you've been so good to my family and I can't thank you enough for that.
Thinking about it now, we've never really had an argument as I typically did with all of my other friends. I guess that's what true friendships are about. When everyone left and broke off contact with me, you were right there whenever I need a "girl talk." I know you don't relate much to relationships and huge family problems that I've experienced, but you have always tried your best to give me the advice you thought was right. Although I never told you, I greatly appreciate all of the advice you've given me. I truly believe that it helped me to build myself into the person that I am today. Thank you for not leaving me when everyone else who said they would never leave ended up going.
Although we are probably 160 miles away while you're at college, I know that you're always just a text or a long distance drive away. You still keep me sane & make sure that I know I'm loved. Thank you for just simply being you.
One day you will be the maid of honor in my wedding and the godmother to at least one of my children when that day does come. But in the meantime, just keep being the person that you are. Keep your head up pretty, there are so many people who would kill to see you fall.
