For quite a while, I've been hearing a lot about Tinder. For those of you that are not millennials, Tinder is a dating app that lots of "young folk" use. It connects to our Facebook and we can choose what pictures are on our profile and what to say on our bio.
So, I decided to download Tinder to see what all the fuss is about. I quickly noticed exactly what made me swipe right ("like" their profile), and what made me swipe left ("dislike" their profile). Here is a list that I came up with...hopefully you will be able relate.
1. Only group photos.
If a guy only has group pictures in his profile, I immediately swipe left because I don't know which one he is, but chances are he's probably not the really cute guy I hope I just swiped right on.
2. No bio, no Instagram, no mutuals.
This just makes a guy look sketchier than he already is (because let's face it, it is Tinder). I can't really explain what it is that makes him so...odd.
3. Ab pics and only ab pics.
It makes you seem extremely vain if you're just posting pictures of yourself shirtless and then it makes you look even worse when you act fake humble about it. Just don't do it. It puts you in a lose-lose situation.
4. Having the same baby in most of your pictures.
Honestly, even if you say that it's not your kid, it's still a little sketchy. And if we're all being real here, who would want to end up matching with someone and everything when they have a child...especially someone in my age group.
5. "I don't message first."
If this is in your bio, all you'll be getting is an out loud "boy bye, I don't either" and a left swipe.
6. Flipping off the camera.
It is just a personal thing, but if a guy is doing that, then he probably not someone I want to associate with, and why waste any time on him?
7. "I'm a proud liberal."
First off, yikes. I'm a conservative and I am absolutely in love with politics. I am strong headed and won't back down from my beliefs. With this election season, chances are, this guy will unknowingly bring up politics and we will get into an argument that will end in one of us un-matching each other. And in all honesty, I imagine the same is for the opposite way around.
8. "I already have the most beautiful girl in the world."
Yes, this did actually happen. A fraternity boy at my school decided it would be a great idea to make a Tinder and write in his bio that he has the most beautiful girl in the world. I just...why would you do that? Delete your Tinder and stop trying to cheat on your girlfriend. Buh bye.
