14 Throwback TV Shows We ALL Wish Were On Netflix Or Hulu

In This Article:

Growing up in the early 2000s, Nickelodeon and Disney had some of the best television shows out there. Now that I'm in my 20s and Hulu and Netflix have come to be my main source of television, I find myself longing for those throwback shows we all used to know and love. It may seem like it's a lot to ask, but I'm sure if you took a poll of kids growing up in the early 2000s if they'd be more likely to invest in either streaming company if they added these shows they'd wholeheartedly agree.

1. "Kim Possible"

Giphy

As kids, we all wanted to kick butt just like Kim Possible and have a trusted best friend sidekick like Ron Stoppable.

2. "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody"

Giphy

Who didn't want to live in a hotel and run around and have fun like Zack and Cody did when they were growing up? Even if that meant having Mr. Mosby running around always yelling at you trying to kill your vibe.

3. "That's So Raven"

Giphy

Being able to see into the future? Yes, please! Even if that means that sometimes the visions we get lead to all kinds of disasters and mayhem.

4. "Hannah Montana"

Giphy

Ordinary girl by day and pop star by night, sign me up! Whether she was Miley or Hannah, sweet nibblits did Miley Stewart and her friends know how to have a good time.

5. "Jonas"

Giphy

Three famous singing brothers all under one roof trying to live a normal life what could possibly go wrong? Honestly though, this show brought a fun twist to high school and made us all wish we went to high school with the JoBros.

6. "Emperor's New School"

Giphy

The movie spinoff version of this show can be found on Hulu, but that just isn't enough Kuzco to satiate our childhood obsessions.

7. "Wizard's of Waverly Places"

Giphy

If you didn't know all the words and dance to the funky hat song as a kid were you even cool? The Russo siblings had us all wishing we'd grown up with magical powers and all the obstacles that come along with trying to be normal teens with powers.

8. "The Wild Thornberry's"

Giphy

The original Irwin family? Probably so, but that didn't stop us from all wanting to go out in the wild and exploring it all had to offer us with our family.

9. "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide"

Giphy

There's no better show out there to show kids how to navigate middle school in the most absurd of ways. While it wasn't fully realistic, it made my experience in middle school that much more worth it at the end of the day.

10. "Spongebob Squarepants"

Giphy

As a kid, this was probably one of my favorite shows. There was just something about the friendship between Spongebob and Patrick and the animosity between Mr. Krabs and Plankton that kept me coming back for more.

11. "Zoey 101"

Giphy

Pacific Coast Academy may have been the one boarding school that every kid wished they could go to. No parental supervision required and having fun day and night with our friends, who could possibly turn that down?

12. "Jimmy Neutron"

Giphy

Life would be great if we were all as smart as Jimmy Neutron and able to make super bomb inventions to help save ourselves and the human race.

13. "Scooby-Do"

Giphy

Nothing like solving crimes with your best buds and a talking dog. Also, you'd be lying if you said you never wanted to ride around in the mystery machine at least once.

14. "Fairly Odd Parents"

Giphy

Life would've been so much simpler as kids if we each had our own set of fairly odd parents to help us out whenever we needed it.

Here's to hoping that this article got you back into your childhood feels. I don't know who to talk to in order to begin trying to get thee shows out there for the world to indulge in, but we need to show kids these days what they've been missing out on. If you can think of any other shows that made up your childhood let me know!

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
