As the 2016 Rio Olympic Games come to a close, the time comes to reflect on what we've seen take place over the past two weeks. From the triumphs to the disappointments, the surprises to the scandals, the new records to the failures, these Olympic Games have kept us entertained. Whether you have watched every minute of olympic coverage or have only seen the highlights that are shared on Facebook, we all must be thinking about the same thing while we watch these athletes do their thing. Here is what you've probably been thinking while watching the 2016 Olympics.
1. "This doesn't seem that hard"
I mean anyone can swim. It doesn't even look like they're working that hard! Ok.... maybe it does. I don't know, clearly it must be difficult if it's in the olympics.
2. "There's a sport for that?"
Speed walking? Ping pong? Enough said.
3. "Who really cares about this record?"
I mean seriously? "Yah know Bill if George wins this he will be the first middle child to win a bronze, then a silver and then another bronze all 8 years apart since 1988.You want to know another incredible fact? No one cared about that record, even the first time it was set! Now back to you, Janet"
4. "Do I really need all this back story?"
I feel like they're explaining this athlete's entire life story but I just want to see who wins this race
*30 seconds later*
"YOU GO GIRL. I mean, she's just had to overcome so much with her injury last season and her big fall at worlds and I just don't know what I'm going to do I'm so emotional."
5. "Why do they never zoom in on the person who's going to come in 5th?"
I mean, Usain Bolt is great and all but what about the guy who's 3 behind him? He seems like he's working pretty hard too! What if I was the guy who came in 5th? I'd want some attention too! Sorry I'm not the freaking fastest person in the world. I'M TRYING MY BEST OK GOSH
6. Do people actually watch these sports for the 3 years and 350 days in between olympics?
Who knew they even had swimming competitions outside of the olympics?
