Chances are good that while you were surfing the web, talking with friends, or just listening to someone else conversation you have heard of the term "Lucid Dreaming." You probably wonder what it is or you've looked and then got bored while looking for the answer. Well, you've come to the right spot.
Going off of what I know about lucid dreaming, I decided to give it a shot and I was, for the most part, successful. For me, being conscious in a crazy dream and being aware that you're sleeping led to crazy sh*t that I won't try again. Anyhow, now I present the basics on Lucid Dreaming courtesy of The Lucidity Institute.
1. What Is Lucid Dreaming?
Lucid dreaming is knowing that what you are experiencing in your sleep is a dream. You would know this by a number of things such as talking to the dead or flying like Superman. If you can already do one of two of those things awake, then you should probably seek help.
2. Why Would I Want To Do It?
The short answer here is that you can do cool stuff, but I suppose that we could go over the other reasons that the Lucidity Institute gave. You can do relatively impossible things (flight), conquer your fears (The Postman), rehearse for your day, or unleash your inner Van Gough or Tom Brady.
3. Is It Dangerous?
To condense three paragraphs of material, no. Will it kill you? No, it will not. What if I die in my dream? No, even that will not kill you.
4. Can Anyone Do It?
Yes, the institute purports that some people can do it naturally and some need instruction, but, either way, just about anyone can do it.
So that's it. I hope that this is enough to give you dreamers more information on lucid dreaming.
