Dumbo stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It is a neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. There are two sections. One section is between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. It connects both bridges across the East River, and another one continues from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar area.

I’ve been working full time in Dumbo at the famous Gleason’s Gym since 2002. I have seen many businesses come and go. I watch million dollar condos, Bo Concept, West Elm and a elementary school build from the ground up. Dumbo is one of my favorite neighborhoods probably because I know it so well. Lately, especially early Summer of 2016, many new businesses are coming this year. On my lunch break everyday, I like to take a stroll in the neighborhood to grab a bite and see what’s new. My favorite place is Brooklyn Bridge Park along the East River. On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, I came across one particular area of Dumbo (Prospect, Adams, Water, & Sands Street) to find at lest five new businesses coming soon this year. So I decided to pull out my iPhone and capture this moment of exploration. I saved the best coming soon exclusive for last!
