You don't have to dread that long car ride!

The Best Playlist To Bring You Back To School

Most people would agree that a perfectly constructed playlist has a direct effect on your mood. I love to create playlists for almost every event: party, pre-game, cooking, cleaning, waking up, getting dressed, and (probably the most famous) road trips. I need to drive six hours to get to my college, so naturally, I make a playlist each time... usually contrived of a select few from iTunes top 10, some "Glee" songs, a few throwbacks, and a plethora of pump-up, girl-power jams. I thought that I would share with you my most recent creation and hopefully, your ride back to college will be as perfect as mine was.

1. "Life is a Highway" - Rascall Flatts

This song is basically the benchmark necessity of all road-trip playlists. It is perfect for driving on the highway, as implied by its appropriately-named title. Also, if you're driving in the morning or late at night, it will definitely wake you up and make you excited to be on the road. And even better, you'll like it so much that you'll be compelled to learn all the words in order to sing (scream) them along.

2. "Sorry" - Justin Bieber

As mentioned before, I like to throw in some current radio songs, hence, this song. Justin Bieber's voice is just so soothing (and sexy) that you need him to cheer you up on a long car ride.

3. "All Night Longer" - Sammy Adams

This song will definitely pump you up to go out to parties when you get back to school. After a long hiatus of Netflixing and being with family, it's nice to finally go out and let loose and "All Night Longer" will definitely make you excited for that.

4. "I Want It That Way" - Backstreet Boys OR "Bye, Bye, Bye" - NSYNC

This totally depends on your 90's boy band preference, but it is essential to have a pop throwback. And if you're driving with friends, it's great to have a jam sesh (including the dance moves).

5. "Hollow" - Tori Kelly

This is just a new song that is on the radio. It's super catchy and upbeat, and most importantly: it's easy to sing along to so you can mysteriously look out the window and pretend you're in your own music video.

6. "Defying Gravity" - "Wicked"

This is actually a Broadway song, so it may sound unfamiliar, but I encourage all of you to learn it. It is so inspiring and has a very loud and powerful ending. If you are driving alone, this is the most perfect song to belt out uninhibitedly on a car ride.

7. "Hands to Myself" - Selena Gomez

This song is to get you excited to see the babe you've been thinking about all over break. Maybe you just casually met or you are closely involved, but either way, this will surely get you in the mood to be reunited.

8. "Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis

This is such a good crying song. Maybe there is someone back at school who broke your heart or maybe it was someone back at home from which you are excited to get away or maybe there is no person at all. Regardless of who or why, "Bleeding Love" will give you all the feels.

9. "Sorority Girl" - Luke Bryan

If you are returning for school early for sorority recruitment, it is basically a right of passage to listen to this song. It celebrates the fun in joining a sorority and nothing makes you want to go Greek more than hearing a heart-throb like Luke Bryan tell you to do so.

10. "Girlfriend" - Icona Pop

The best part of returning to school is to be reunited with your best friends whom you have been without for so long. But the wait is over and the time has come for you guys to a team again. "Girlfriend" celebrates the fun and importance of having best friends. What a better way to start off a new semester?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
