We all love Thanksgiving, for one real reason: FOOD. Especially if you are a college kid, it's like going home to your own heaven, plus you get to see your dog (or cat).

1. Turkey

I mean what is Thanksgiving without a Turkey. How else are you going to "Gobble until you Wobble?" Then you can go into your Turkey coma!

2. Green Bean Casserole

I don't know about you but this is my favorite side dish. I can already taste it in my mouth. It's just so yummy.

3. Mashed Potatoes

Through some gravy on top of the fluffy white pile and dig in.

4. Sweet Potato Souffle

I mean c'mon you really cannot have too many carbs (or potatoes) at Thanksgiving. This is a must have dish at the dinner table.

5. Stuffing

If you are like my family, you'll fight over this. My mouth is watering as I am writing this.

6. Cranberries

Whether it is the canned jelly cranberries or cranberry sauce, it goes amazing with Turkey.

7. Baked Mac N' Cheese

I love cheese. This is something I will be taking back to school with me.

8. Cornbread

Sweet or not that is your preference, but no matter what there will be butter on it. Or some type of bread: rolls, crescents, biscuits. Whatever your bread choice is, go for it.

9. Noodles

There as been a noodle recipe in my family for over four generations. OH! I can taste them right now.

10. Pumpkin Pie

Thanksgiving isn't complete without pumpkin pie! It's like having a birthday without cake!

11. Rolls

More bread!!! More carbs!!! Are we sure it's a turkey coma? It may just be carb overload.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
