To The Good Guy That Finally Came Into My Life

After all the craziness and bad of my past, you came into my life and saved me.

To The Good Guy That Finally Came Into My Life
Sydney Moore

After all the abusers, cheaters, liars and leavers. After all the guys that just saw me as their trophy girl, their ticket out or who wanted to fit me into their "perfect girl mold." You came into my life and made it all worth it. You are, finally, the good guy that every girl dreams about. The one who thinks of me first, does sweet things just because, takes care of me, accepts me and my many flaws, and most importantly, truly loves me.

I had begun to give up on love, dating, relationships and anything to do with it. I had come to the conclusion that it just was not meant for me. I figured I was the problem; I mean, I was the common denominator, right? For some reason, it never worked out, and in almost every case, I was treated pretty nasty. When I met you, I have to admit I was pretty skeptical. I mean, why would this be different than any other time? You would start out sweet, say the right things, and then it would all be lies, you would find someone better, or I just wasn't enough.

However, this time it was different from the very beginning. It's not just sweet sayings with empty meanings and a hidden agenda. It's heartfelt, genuine and true. You make me trust like I never thought I would be able to again, and you make me have an open heart again.

So, thank you. Thank you for making all the nights spent crying, the broken hearts and the steadily dropping confidence worth it. Thank you for putting up with all the insecurities that the past created. Thank you for seeing the true me, past the damage, past the strong facade I present to others that hides the stress and hurt. Thank you for giving me chance after chance, when I let my insecurities get the best of me. Thank you for forgiving me when I take my past hurt out on you. Thank you for giving me the chance to believe again. Thank you for finally letting me write about my happiness, instead of my sorrow. Thank you.

After everything, all the bad, you are my hope. My faith. You are the reason I still believe in true love, because if you can love someone as torn and tattered as me, then it has to be real.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
