You are my lifeline.

A Thank You Letter To My Computer

Dear Computer,

There is so much to thank you for, you are like my lifeline. Thank you for distracting me from life when I need it. For being my way to help me cope by providing me with all my favorite passers of time. Thank you computer for providing me with Netflix, YouTube and social media, huge shoutout to them for being there for me when nothing else is or I'm too lazy to do anything. And even for entertainment purposes when I'm absolutely bored out of my mind or procrastinating for that math test in two days.

Thanks for helping me with my tremendously difficult schoolwork, by letting me Google my way through my studies. People just assume search engines for schoolwork are a bad thing, but I thank my computer for letting me expand my learning past the sometimes tedious classroom environment and out-dated textbooks. Thank you for making that huge lecture hall seem that much smaller by having you beside me, helping me learn when I'm sometimes confused.

Coming to college in Arizona is a long ways away from home, so thank you for letting me communicate with my friends and family on the other side of the country. Yes, a phone call is super nice, but seeing their face on that Skype call just makes it that much more surreal. Whether it's video chatting or Facebook, I'm so fortunate for you to help me keep in touch with the ones I love most when I'm away from them.

Yes, this distracts me a lot but thank you for granting my life with YouTube and Netflix. I could honestly sit in my room for hours and just watch my favorite show or favorite YouTuber. YouTube is such an inspiration to me, I learn something new every time I watch. Even Netflix, I will find myself deep into the show, I feel as almost I'm living the characters life at some points. Without you computer, I wouldn't have these incredible things in my life.

Computer, you can definitely be a tremendously giant distractor, but I live a lot of my life through you. I can't wait for technology to progress, and you to become more advanced and do things people in our generation could never even believe could exist. I know humans just take it for granted, but you're honestly so fortunate to even own a computer. It makes life just that much easier. I mean come on, I know how many hours a day you probably spend on Netflix or typing into Google that difficult science question that you don't feel like searching for in the textbook. So, enough about my extreme passion for Netflix, thank you for everything you do for me and our entire world today.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
