It's the small pink ribbon on your water bottle, the pink out game at your school sporting event, or the 5k you ran in with your friends; whatever it may be, breast cancer awareness is all over. Once a year, every October, it seems like the entire nation comes together to support a common that cause hits close to home to many.
An estimated 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and with those odds its tough to find someone who hasn't been affected by this disease in some way.
For me, it was my Aunt. I grew up watching one of my favorite people in the world battle this horrible cancer. Luckily, she came out on top, but not many people can say the same thing. That's why continuing to support the fight against Breast Cancer means everything to me, it means everything to anyone who has ever had someone they know diagnosed.
That's why I'd like to say thank you.
Thank you for buying a t-shirt or a hat with that special pink ribbon.
Because it spreads awareness.
Thank you for buying a ticket to your school's pink out football game.
Because it helps us stand united for this cause.
Thank you for participating in the Making Strides walk or the Race for the Cure.
Because each mile you walk gets us closer to finding a cure.
Thank you to every Zeta Tau Alpha for dedicating your sororities philanthropy to Breast Cancer.
Because even though you aren't my sorority, I feel loved by the generosity of your sisters.
Thank you to the professional sports teams who wear the pink ribbon in support.
Because the millions of fans who support your team, will see the pink ribbon and remember all those still fighting.
Thank you for supporting this cause.
Because without your support, my Aunt may not have won her battle.
The fight against Breast Cancer is everywhere, but it's not without the help of those who spread awareness who have made the fight a little easier for people like my Aunt. On behalf of everyone who has been affected by this disease in any way, we appreciate those who help us spread awareness and raise money for the cause.
We are on a mission to find a cure so that no one has to go through life without their loved ones and we couldn't do it without you.
