Professional tennis is filled with many interesting characters, ranging from an anger-filled American to a sophisticated Swiss. The list is much larger than this though, and just like the superlatives in your high school yearbook, these players are the most popular on the tour. So take a gander at these tennis superlatives.
1. Most Feared
Roger Federer takes the spot here. When you look at modern tennis, Federer is by far the most feared, understandably. He shows no negative emotion and never loses his temper while playing a match. This, combined with the fact that he possesses some of the most consistent groundstrokes on the tour, makes him deadly to play, and thus makes him most feared. If you still don't believe me, watch this.
2. Funniest
Novak Djokovic undoubtedly is the man for the job here. His comical actions both on and off the court speak for themselves. He loves to joke around with the ball-kids, umpires and fans during water breaks, rain delays, and even during the match. If you still don’t believe me, watch this
It’s one minute and fifty nine seconds of pure bliss, with an awesome finish, once again showing us Djokovic’s humorous personality.
3. Most Likely to Succumb to Emotion
Andy Murray takes this spot in my mind. The Scot constantly loses his temper when he gets down during a match, causing him to end up losing the match in a fashion that can only be described in this tweet. Unfortunately for Andy, (and anyone sitting next to him) that happens quite often, leading to many fines. But Murray isn’t all that bad. Keep on reading to find out more about him.
4. Most Likely to Break a Wine Glass During a Match
Maria Sharapova takes this spot. While many of you may comment that it should’ve been Azarenka, these superlatives are exactly like your high school’s in regards of popularity. Sharapova’s screams as she hits the ball are extremely loud, and have been compared to a “stuck pig.” If you’ve never had the opportunity to listen to the 105 dB scream, watch this.
5. Most Likely to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse
Andy Murray takes the cake here. His intense training regimen has made him the best athlete on tour and thus in my mind the one who would be able to outrun the zombies for the longest period of time. His strength training would also give him the ability to take one swing at his pursuers and knock ‘em dead.
6. Most Likely to Beat Up a Line Judge
Serena Williams. I think I’m going to let this video speak for itself. That pretty much sums up her temper.
At the end of the day, the professional tennis tour is exactly like your high school. It is filled with many interesting characters, ranging from a drama queen who loves to scream, to a tough athlete prepared for almost any disaster.
