Football. That beautiful time of year where 70% of the country goes cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs over a bunch of grown men fighting over an inflated—and sometimes deflated—piece of leather, while the other 30% wonder what in the world exactly is a “Brown?” Nevertheless, football is back, so here are my picks for Super Bowl LI.
*Numbers in parenthesis indicate playoff seeding.
*Also, I swear I had written this down before the Panthers lost to the Broncos last Thursday!

Some quick notes:
- For the first time in 8 years, the New England Patriots will miss the playoffs due to Tom Brady’s suspension and playing in the toughest division in the AFC.
- Both the Jets and the Chiefs were among the most surprising teams last year, and will continue that trend by dethroning the Patriots, Broncos, and Steelers as the major powerhouses of the AFC.
- Everyone seems to have forgotten about the Colts this year, but they have one of the quickest defenses in the league and a formidable offense led by Andrew Luck.
- Jacksonville Jaguars will make the postseason for the first time since 2007.
- The Cardinals and Packers were the only two among last season’s NFC playoff teams that got discernibly better on both offense and defense during the offseason, and will prove it by dominating most teams they play in the season.
- Somebody has to win the laughable NF East division, so I might as well gift it to the Redskins again this year.
- Saints will be the "comeback kids" of the NFC. Their defense was so miserable last year, that any improvement will automatically put them in contention to win a few more games than the previous season.
