To Anyone Struggling To Cope With Anxiety

Mental health is such a prevalent concern in today's society due to the rising number of individuals affected by it. Mental health is both the emotional and psychological well-being of a person. It can affect someone's life by interfering with the way they think, feel, or act. Anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and low self-esteem are all examples of the varying mental illnesses that disrupt people's daily lives. Conquering the battle against these mental illnesses is a highly difficult thing to do on your own. Many treatment options exist to help improve the well-being of the affected, such as individual therapy sessions, medication, or group counselling. Regardless of what method one chooses to use, the process will be challenging but the results will undoubtedly outweigh those challenges. If you are searching for a new way to cope with and surpass the troubles of mental illness, here's your saving grace!

"Mind Over Mood" by Dennis Greenberger and Christine A. Padesky, both clinical psychologists with PhDs, is a cognitive therapy workbook that focuses on educating and identifying the contributing factors that spark mood changes in certain people. "Mind Over Mood" has helped me as well as thousands of other people calm and stabilize their high levels of anxiety.

The manual gives examples of breaking down your emotions and working to diagnose the specific scenarios that trigger those emotions. "Mind Over Mood" has various chapters that target the many elements that can contribute to people's anxiety, depression, or shame. The workbook is a series of lessons aimed toward educating the reader on how to appropriately distinguish between the situation, the moods, and the automatic thoughts associated with feeling a particular way. Understanding your thoughts will then help you to understand why you feel the way you do.

"Mind Over Mood" is very practical because, as a workbook, you are able to go back and re-read or re-write a chapter when you experience any negative emotion. "Mind Over Mood" isn't just a one-time thing; the advice and coping mechanisms will always be available for you when needed.

This therapeutic book is such an incredible tool to use because it is not only a cure, but a learning process that truly allows you to understand yourself and how your mind works. The charts and tables that "Mind Over Mood" provides for you to fill in is such a great option for those suffering from mental illness, because most people are able to communicate their emotions through the written word with more ease as opposed to verbally expressing the way they feel.

I would recommend to anyone struggling with mental illness to try "Mind Over Mood" as part of their cognitive-behavioral therapy.

I felt unhappy and alone at times, too. However, the "Mind Over Mood" workbook changed my perspective on managing a mental illness. It taught me how to break down my feelings and to directly identify what was causing my episodes. I acquired the utmost confidence and knowledge from reading and writing in this book. You should do the same!

It is important to have positive mental health from your childhood all the way into your adulthood. So, don't sit in silence or feel ashamed because you're affected by mental illness. Instead, pick up a copy of "Mind Over Mood," and get ready to change the way you think for a life full of happiness.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
