Thank You, Donald Trump

We are going to make America great again, WITHOUT YOU.

I want to start off by saying we are all entitled to our own opinions. We have the privilege to vote and are trusted that we can formulate our own opinions and decide for ourselves whom we best see fit to lead the country. It's our right as citizens of the United States and one of the many reasons why America is as great as it is.

Prior to this election, I was never one to post about my political opinions. Prior to this election, I would never voice my political opinions unless asked. However, I know that my generation is a powerful one that will continue to shape our country long after November 8th; But, we are also the generation who will suffer the consequences in the future for the choices we make on that day as well.

That said, I can only hope that after you have truly taken the time to imagine a society in which Donald Trump is the president of the United States, you can come to terms with the amount of darkness, disrespect, hatred and evil he can and will bring upon this country. . That after reflection, you are able to realize that while you may not fully support Hillary, you cannot support Trump. That after reflection, and you are sitting on your couch when the election results come in, you acknowledge that you have done everything in your power to make the right decision.

However, I cannot waste an article nor a lifetime writing about why Donald Trump should not be President of the United States. Instead, I want to merely acknowledge his campaign thus far. Donald Trump has put up a fight, a nasty (woman) and bad (hombre) fight, but a fight nonetheless. In this, I find it only right to thank him:

Thank you, Donald Trump. For the five-year old manners you evidently never grew out of. For providing us with really, very, good answers to the world's most pressing issues. For becoming the inspiration of memes and a punch line at the dinner table rather than inspiration of a better future for America. For being PURE entertainment, nothing short of it. But also, NOTHING more than that.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For playing dirty. For using every excuse. For blaming everyone but yourself. For playing every trick before ever admitting that you are one of the most undeserving presidential candidates the world has ever witnessed.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For being the manipulative menace that you are. For being so talented at spinning the truth, spinning the facts, and clawing your way out of situations that should have buried you down under. For taking the opinions from minds of perfectly educated and capable citizens and squandering them with your promises to make America great again, even though it already is.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For keeping it real and showing us who you really are. For showing us what a disdainful disrespect you have for veterans. For showing us what a shamefully large hatred

you have for people of color. For showing us a painful disregard you have for

women in all aspects of our lives. For setting an example and fostering

places that fuel a hatred so despicable it makes people sick to

their stomachs. For showing us that for you- it's okay to be

disrespectful and hateful and to disregard any life- BUT YOURS.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For showing us that you are not the only one we should worry about. That while you care about no one but yourself, that you are not the only one of your kind. That there are corrupt politicians who are just simply better at disguising the racist, sexist, hateful views you gladly boast about. That there are people, just like you, taking more than you could ever need, with no intent to ever give back.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For waking us up. For allowing us to realize that the second you became a presidential candidate, that we could no longer idly sit and skip the voting booth. For allowing us to realize we have officially hit rock bottom. That if you are our president, we could and will become the biggest joke on this Earth. For allowing us to realize that while Hillary is not perfect, at least she is not you. That we are better than this, and better than you.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For recognizing that our country needs to be fixed. I do, in fact, agree. America suffers with its own issues- our issues. And they do need to be fixed, but what America does not need, Mr. Trump, is you "fixing" them.

Thank you, Donald Trump. But I will never chance the future or the sanity of our country on someone like you.

Thank you, Donald Trump. For trying. Consider this your participation ribbon and kindly show yourself the door.

Thank you, Donald Trump. But we are going to MAKE AMERICA GREAT again AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN, WITHOUT YOU.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
