Star Wars Themed Lands Are Coming to Disney

Ready to travel to back in time to a galaxy far, far away? Bob Iger, the chairman for Disney, announced that both Disney parks in Orlando, Florida, and Anaheim, California, will be adding "Star Wars-"themed lands to their parks. Time to hop in the Millennium Falcon!

Iger broke the news to over 8,000 screaming, and very excited, fans at the Disney D23 Expo on Saturday, August 15.

"We are creating a jaw-dropping new world," Iger said during his announcement. "We are bringing "Star Wars" to life in a big way...These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new "Star Wars" Planet."

"Nothing in the lands will be out of character," Iger continued. "Including the famed cantina. You've never seen a cantina like this before."

Anyone want to meet Han Solo for a drink at the cantina? Sign me up!

The new "Star Wars" lands at the Disney parks are going to be their largest expansions ever, each at 14 acres. The plan for the parks is to let fans immerse themselves with the culture and make it as if they are actually stepping into their favorite "Star Wars" movies.

Fans will be transported to a never before seen planet: a new trading port loaded with all your favorite characters. Guests will also be able to *pause for dramatic effect* ride the Millennium Falcon during a battle scene!

J.J Abrams, director of the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie, out in December, was incredibly excited when he heard the news, since he had been talking for awhile about wanting to have droids as friends.

"Guests will truly become part of a "Star Wars" story," said Iger. "It's going to be a whole new level, a whole new galaxy."

Oscar Isaac, who plays an x-wing fighter pilot in the new "Star Wars" movies, warned us that he hopes our experiences at the new "Star Wars" lands won't be too real.

"Don't eat up to two hours before flying an x-wing. From experience, I say don't do it," Isaac joked.

Even though no construction dates have been announced yet, the Disney Parks and Resort chairman Bob Chapek says that guests at the park will have a tasting of the "Star Wars" lifestyle. During Disney's "Star Wars:" Season of the Force event next year, many popular rides will have "Star Wars" updates, such as the roller coaster Space Mountain turning into Hyperspace Mountain.

I don't know about you guys, but I am way too excited to go hang out with Master Yoda and C-3PO soon!
