It's playoff season. As much as we love this time of the year, we also dread it. It's the best and the worst part of the year. In a best of seven, anything can happen. And I mean anything. But all the heartbreak, the yelling, the horrible overtime goals, is completely worth it when you see your team lift up Lord Stanley.
Of course, we all start the season thinking one is going to win. That team could surprise us all and not even make the playoffs. Or a team that you would have never guessed would make it (like the Panthers). It a time of heartache and heart attacks.
In the words of Chandler Bing, "Could that be any more exciting?"
When your friend is cheering for the other team, that's currently winning...
And this series really tests your friendship...
This can apply to the regular season, but whenever Mike Milbury opens his mouth...
How you feel when your favorite player scores the game winning goal...
Sometimes it takes something strong to get through the nerve-wracking game...
Or when the refs call something that was a perfectly clean play...
When you chirp another team and then they win...
And there's always that fan that thinks their wild card team is going to win Lord Stanley...
When the series is 3-3 and it's 2-0 in the third period...
Or when your team comes back and wins the series...
Or they lose and you have to wait until October to watch them again...
But let's be honest, you're just going to pretend to do something else while unhappily watching the rest of the playoffs...
But there's always the chance that your rival team gets beat out in the first round...
So whether you're cheering for the Ducks or the Capitals, the Stars or the Penguins, these next couple of months will be a roller coaster of emotion. But when the final comes around, and you see the joy on the players' faces, you can't help but smile. Even if your team lost out in the first round.
So sit back and enjoy the games because as soon as they are over, you're going to be asking yourself, "Is it October yet?"
