If you really want to have some fun this spring break but you are so broke, there are some things that you can do that won't break the bank. No matter what you want to do, whether it's going swimming or just a fun night out with friends, there are plenty of ways to check those off your bucket list without spending too much money.
I don't know how warm it will be on spring break but I can tell you that nothing is better than a dip in the pool. What if you don't have a pool? Well there is an easy way to feel the tropical life and that is to get a kiddie pool. I know that kiddie pools are small and not too comfortable but put a chair in it, stick an umbrella behind you and sip fruit punch from a tropical cup to get you in the island spirit. It will cool you down without freezing you and it is just the thing to do to get you outside.
Now depending on where you live this could be more expensive than other things but bear with me here. A small day trip is something simple that anyone with a car can do. Pack up your friends in a car and drive to a big city like Chicago, Ann Arbor or some other city near you. You don't need to do spend a lot, maybe for food and some gifts for other people, but there is a lot of things to do for free in big cities like that. Just go and enjoy yourself for a day, it will make you feel like you actually went somewhere and did something big on spring break when you really didn't.
If you aren't into the whole road trip thing then maybe this would be better. If you like the outdoors then try a bonfire or a campout. Either one is not very expensive and you can have a ton of fun. If you want to go all out, I'm sure that there are some campsites at the state parks in your state that would be fun to camp at. Or you could simply invite your friends over to your house and do it in your backyard. Tell ghost stories, roast marshmallows, play fun games. Do whatever you want in the comfort of your own backyard or if you are feeling adventurous then go all out at a real campground.
There are tons of other things that you can do over spring break instead of sitting inside and doing nothing. Make a slip n' slide, go on a trip, make a fun scavenger hunt for your friends, do anything. Now there's nothing wrong with being a little lazy, I mean it is a break, but sitting on the couch all spring break is just not good enough. Just try one of these things and you will realize that the world wants you to do something this spring break.
