New Girl Wiki

It's the end of February. Everyone's gearing up to go to warm and tropical places. You are sitting in your dorm room scrolling through Instagram, looking at everyone's vacation-countdown pictures and feeling sorry for yourself.

But what you don't realize is that you have nothing to feel sorry about! If you spend your spring break right, you'll have just as good of a time at home as your classmates in Cancun and Aruba. Life is what you make it!

You can...

1. Get a head start on spring cleaning

Perhaps not the most appealing of options, but still a decent start!

2. Read a book that's actually good

You've been reading books all semester, but now you can read something you actually like. So swap out that Introduction to Blah Blah Blah textbook for... well, anything else!

3. Fully indulge yourself in the art of binge-watching

Kick back, relax, and catch up with your old pal, Netflix.

4. Catch up on your sleep

Chances are, you're pretty far behind on all your sleep, and this spring break is the perfect opportunity to catch up. You don't have to get up early for any 8 a.m.'s; you don't have to stay up late writing papers and finishing projects. This is your time to take it easy! You deserve it.

5. Spend time working out

Your schedule's been super packed lately, so now you can focus on your goals!

6. OR... don't spend any time working out

You can opt out of going to the gym! Since you're not going anywhere, you don't have to worry about a bikini body. That's one less thing to stress about!

7. Go back to work

Your job may pay minimum wage for long hours of tedious work, but hey, it's still income. Work a few days and make some spending money to take back to school!

8. See your friends from home who are also not going anywhere for spring break

Not everyone's going away for spring break! It just seems like that because the people going away are the only ones posting on social media.

9. Take up a fun hobby

You can take this time off to find a new interest; immerse yourself in something you've never tried before! Try cooking, writing, knitting, scrapbooking, dancing, hiking, or button collecting! The world is your oyster.

10. Start planning an awesome trip for next year

As aforementioned: the world is your oyster, and the possibilities are endless. But there's no rush right now; things will fall into place.

But honestly... Spring break: who needs it?

Shoutout to all the homies staying in this year.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
