First, I would like to say this is not an article about my political views. Second, this is not a more left or more right article. I do not care who you voted for or why. This is for the people using #HeisNotmyPresident hashtag. Sorry to break it to you, but yes, President-elect Trump will be our president.
Why are we still talking about it? Why are you still rioting? There really is nothing you can do to change the results. Neither Trump nor Obama nor anyone has even seen the petition that wants Hillary to take over the presidency. Not trying to be too harsh, but get over it.
I do not understand all these people rioting for Hillary. When I was an engineering student at school, I had classes to go to and homework to do. I really did not have too much time walking the streets trying to protest. Now that I am in the adult world, I go to work. I do not think my boss would give me PTO to riot. Even if I wanted to protest at night, I am way too tired when I come home from a nine hour work day. Again, I am not saying that I am for or against Trump. I am just saying this stuff happens. Life is not fair. Get over it.
Now, let’s talk about the professor canceling class for students to grieve. Um what? Do you want to be treated like a child? College students should be transferring to adulthood and becoming young adults. Why do you need a day to cry in your bed because your choice for president was not chosen? We have had a democratic and republican party for ages. The democrats have lost. They have also won. You guessed it. The republicans have lost and won too. This has happened for decades and decades of which side the US leans towards. It is not the first time you have lost. It is time to move on and move toward progression.
Yes, there are steps and actions we can all take now to move forward. You crying and bitching does not make anything better. I want you to have a voice and speak your opinion, but guide it in the right direction. Don’t cause a mess and hatred in this world. Direct your thoughts and words in your local organizations to make a change in your hometown. Look towards the groups already out there for women and gay rights. Help the ones in need right down your street to make the world a better place. Trump has no control over who you are as a person. There are many organizations that he cannot take away or affect in any way.
Yes, he is going to be the leader of the free world, but that does not mean he is the leader of your own world. It is time to grow up and get over it. You want to see a change? YOU go out and make a change. Not happy with some of the policies he is implementing? You have four years to deal with it, and then you can vote again. Look to the positives and stop whining. It Is not the end of the world. This is not an excuse to skip classes, quit your job, and bring hatred to your neighbors. Trump is our president.
Last time I will say this, get over it.
