Valentine's Day is a little over a month away, and if you are dreading the day, you are not alone. Valentine's Day might be known as a day for couples, but it can also be a day for people that are single. There are a lot of things that you can do on this day if you're not going to be spending it with a significant other. Here are some of those ideas.

1. Go out with your friends

Make a day out of it, or go out in the evening. No matter when or what you do, you can hang out with your friends and do something that you all like doing together.

2. Go bowling

Whether it's with your friends, family, or by yourself. No matter if you are good or bad, you can have fun either way. I'm not the greatest when it comes to bowling, but that doesn't stop me from the game.

3. Spa day

Treat yourself to a trip at the spa. Sometimes, you just need to take care of yourself and just relax.

4. Go out to lunch, dinner, or both

https://giphy.com/gifs/eating-spongebob-squarepants-hungry-12uXi1GXBibALC

Treat yourself to a nice lunch or dinner. Try a place that you have never been to, go to a place that you hardly go to, or head place that you love. Where ever you decided to go, treat yourself. Take yourself out to lunch and/or dinner, or go out with our friends and/or family.

5. Throw a party

You could have a theme. You could go big or go small and invite whoever you want. Do whatever you want! It's up to you, it is your party after all.

6. Ice or roller skating

Head to the nearest ice or roller skating rink and pull out your best moves. For me, if I decide to go out skating, I will keep it simple because I'm clumsy, but you better believe I'm going to have fun.

7. Catch a movie

There are some movies coming out this February that you could check on the fourteenth. "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part," "The Amityville Murders," "Isn't It Romantic", and "Happy Death Day 2U" are all coming out the first two weeks of February that you could check out on Valentine's Day.

Or you could watch a movie that has already come out and watch it at home.

8. Stay In

There is nothing wrong with staying in and getting some alone time. It's more time to do things you love like watching Netflix, eating junk food, cooking, playing games, face masks, painting your nails, singing songs at the top of your lungs and so much more.

9. Go out and explore

Explore a place that you haven't been to or go to a place that you haven't been to in a really long time. Take a trip down memory lane or make some new memories.

10. Go on a trip

No matter if it's for one day or a few. Whether you travel by plane, train, or boat, or how far you go. You could go on a trip somewhere. Explore a new city or town and visit the best spots.

11. Catch those z's

Catch up on some much needed sleep if you need to because why not? Sleeping is one of my favorite activities.

12. Go to a concert, show, or play

https://giphy.com/gifs/rock-concert-n-roll-hd9FYdUReGQbm

Spend some time seeing one of your favorite bands/artists live, see a comedian, a show, or a play. See something that you have wanted to see for a long time or see one that you have seen thousands of times.

13. Do an acting, art, or dance class

https://giphy.com/gifs/hulu-east-los-high-hulu-original-3o6ZtkVZiJ3ba7AC4w

No matter if you are good or bad at it. That doesn't mean you can't still do it and enjoy doing it. You can also learn a lot. Plus, practice makes perfect.

14. Attend a sports game

Sadly, the Bucks or Badgers don't play on Valentine's Day this year, but I'm pretty sure there are other good games that you could attend.

This is just a small list of what you can do on Valentine's Day. There are so many other things that you can do that are not included on this list whether you are in a relationship or not. You don't have to be in a relationship to enjoy Valentine's Day. It's all up to you if you want to go out or stay in. Spend it doing something you want to do.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
