Halloween is arguably the best holiday in the college world. Who knew a bunch of nineteen year olds would take dressing up for one night so seriously? No one wants to be that girl who shows up at a Halloween party without a cool costume, but we’re all broke college students who need a little help. Here are a few easy DIY Halloween costumes for college girls on a budget.
Cat
It’s stereotypical but it’s easy. The only thing you’ll need to purchase for a black cat costume is a set of ears and a tail. Just wear your favorite little black dress or black leggings and a tank top and you’ll be fine! Being a cat this Halloween is classic and simple.
Rosie the Riveter
All you’ll need to pull of this girl power costume is a red bandana and jean shirt and pants – plus you’re best “yes we can!” pose! Add a classic hairstyle and some bright red lips and you’ll be looking strong as hell all night.
Scarecrow
Do you own a flannel? Then you’ll easily be able to pull off a scarecrow look this Halloween! Pair your favorite flannel with leggings or jeans and you’re good to go – but don’t forget the makeup! There are many YouTube tutorials for some great at-home scarecrow looks. If you have a friend who loves doing costume makeup, consider this easy costume this year.
Princess
Every Halloween as a child I wanted to be a princess, so who says I can’t be one now? All you’ll need is a tiara, dress, and heels. You could pull out one of your old homecoming dresses or find a dress at a local thrift store. Plus, you’ll be able to do your hair and makeup like you’re going to prom again and you’ll spend the whole night feeling like royalty.
Fruit
For this super cute (and really popular!) costume, all you’ll need is an oversized t-shirt and a marker. Turn yourself into a pineapple or strawberry for the night. You’ll look super cute and you’ll be comfortable all night, too!
Sandy from Grease
Do you own a black crop top, leather jacket, leggings, and heels? Then you could pull of a Sandy look! Curl your hair and do some dramatic makeup and you’ll turn all the heads on Halloween night.
Minnie Mouse
Minnie Mouse can easily be pulled off with a black top and red tutu! Add some mouse ears and you’re all set.
Netflix & Chill
Want a super cute costume to share with your best friend? How about Netflix and Chill?! I can’t think of a more appropriate costume for the past year. One of you could be Netflix and wear a large red tshirt with “Netflix” written across it, and the other could be “Chill” and wear the same just in blue.
