We all have those days when we need hide away and relax without worrying about any obligations or responsibilities. Check out a few ways to de-stress.
1. Sleeping.
Of course, sleeping is first. Priorities, hello? My family often jokes that I sleep too much, but I don’t mind. But sometimes, we have those days where the best way to recuperate is by taking a well-needed nap. Sometimes it’s necessary to clear our minds and drift off for a bit. It’s alright to escape once in a while.
2. Eat something!
Everyone knows that food is just a beautiful thing, to simply put it. If you feel like treating yourself, then go for it.
3. Exercising.
I honestly love exercising when I’m stressed out. There’s no better feeling than being able to exert all of my stress out and away from my body. The burn is definitely worth it. If you don't feel like doing too much (which is OK) then a walk is fine, too.
4. Watching TV.
Sometimes we just need to have a binge-watch day. Most often, I'm flipping tabs online between "Archer," "Broad City," and "Shameless."
5. Hanging out with friends.
Hanging out with friends is always an option. From going to the beach to even sitting in the living room simply watching TV, bonding with friends is good for anyone to release any stress and to be able to vent when needed.
6. Writing your feelings out.
One key way of de-stressing is by writing all of your thoughts out. It doesn’t have to be a typical journal — a blog or blank Word document is fine. If you ever have free time, just try to find an outlet to express yourself.
7. Trying something new.
Sometimes we have a slight craving to switch things up in our lives. That could range from a spontaneous shopping spree, to getting a new haircut, or even by starting new hobbies. For example, I was tired of my old hair style so I decided to change my look up a bit. Random ways of taking care of yourself can help out a lot.
It's always necessary to take at least five minutes out of your day to unwind, or else your stress could build up, and the result of that is never good. From calling up a friend to just writing your thoughts out, any of these suggestions are great if you need to de-compress for a bit.
