1. The beach, obviously.
Summer is a few weeks from now and it's time to start hitting the gym and dieting again in order to be beach ready by the time finals are over. Whether it's just driving down the street, diving to the coast, or flying–– the beach is the epitome of summertime and it is a great way to start the summer off. Cool off with a cold drink while warming up under the sun and getting that start off tan for summer.
2. SPRINGS.
These are the best places to go out and feel adventurous. You can sit in a tube and float around with a drink in hand or take a hike through the trees –– but any springs are a great place to spend the day or night –– as most offer camping and some even have cabins to stay in for a weekend away.
3. Road trips.
Take advantage of time off to go somewhere new and explore. Summer is the time for getting outside and enjoying the warmer weather. Hiking is the best way to get exercise and have a good time as well. Take some time away from your busy life to go on a couple's trip with your person, or a roadie with your friends to a new place. Either way, your summer is not complete without an awesome road trip to look forward to.
4. Spend time with your family.
Go home for a little longer than you get to during the school year if you plan on staying away to take classes this summer. Use the week or two (or month) break before classes start up again to see the parents, siblings, or grandparents and enjoy some time at home with the family. You can easily show them you care by staying for longer than just the weekend, especially for Mother's Day and Father's Day, as time with you is probably the best gift you can give them.
5. Summer is a time for reinvention, so reinvent yourself.
Spend more time at the gym or sweat it out with a run in the heat. Eat healthy so you can look nice at the beach, and better yet, learn a better dieting habit. You have some extra time on your hands, so use that time to learn how to better yourself and be happy by the end of summer.
6. Use the extra time to work.
Make money for the school year, save up for Big/Little week, make money to spend on cute summer clothes, either way, having a summer job will keep you productive even during the frequent down times.
7. Whatever you do, just make sure it is not sitting on the couch all summer.
When we are adults, we won't just get a whole summer off, (unless you're a teacher, in which case you'll still have bills to pay so it won't be as satisfying). Our last few summers off are things we need to love and cherish, so get out there and do something new, learn to better yourself, and have a good time.
