Most people agree that Baseball is one of United States' favorite sports. Baseball may be a little slow at times, but it can still be more entertaining than other sports. If you go to the restroom, the score could change quickly. You may come back, and the opposing team has scored two home-runs in the span of minutes.

While major league baseball is always fun, college baseball will always be better. Within a college baseball game, there is more that goes on. For example, there are promotions that happen.

Sam Houston State University is a smaller school compared to the universities in the top 25 for baseball. Even though we are a smaller school, we still beat some of the bigger schools.

These are a couple of reasons on why you should attend a baseball game at Sam Houston State University:

1. Tickets are free if you are a student or a professor.

If the games are free, there should be no excuses to not go. Unless you got homework that is due the same day (and let's be honest, even then you probably still could go).

2. The games support local businesses.

In every home game, you get coupons from local restaurants and businesses. If the bearkats score five runs or more, you get a Raising Cane's box combo bogo coupon (and who doesn't like Cane's?).

3. Free stuff.

You can get free t-shirts and mentioned coupons while at the game. Plus, you can get free food at the tailgates before the game.

4. We were ranked #23 in the country for the pre-season.

Last year we beat Texas Tech to advance to the super-regionals. We are expected to be back in the playoffs this year. #Eatemupkats

5. We have an excellent fan base.

Some of our fans consist of alumni, professors, students, etc. Our fans always cheer loud and proud. You should join our crowd and grow the growl with us.

6. Concessions.

Baseball is known to have excellent concession stands. You can always smell the greasy, giant hamburger being cooked outside from a mile away.

7. The Beautiful Weather.

Baseball is played around spring time. Spring consists of sunny days and beautiful weather to play in.

8. Friends.

Baseball is perfect to bring a group of friends to. It is the perfect environment to build bonds with friends and fans alike.

9. Special Events.

One of my favorite events is 50 cent hot dog night. It usually happens at the end of March. And if you have kids, every Sunday is free for kids under the age of 13.

10. Foul Balls

Foul balls are common to be hit inside the seating sections. If you are lucky enough, you can catch a foul ball and save fans from getting hit.

11. Baseball!

Baseball is one of those sports that are fun for the whole family. Just grab a couple of friends, some family and get them to a baseball game.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
