The Safest Places To Live In America

Have you ever thought to yourself, "I'd like to move somewhere safe". Well, there is no such place. Anywhere you move to there will always be crime. But, there are places you can live that are more safe than others and I have the list for you right here. So if you are thinking that you want to keep your family safe, then read closely. Keep in mind that this list is subject to change over a years time.

9. Salem, Oregon

Salem is known to have the cleanest air in the U.S.A. Salem has the third lowest air pollution according the the EPA. There are also many attractions in Salem including, but not limited to, Enchanted Forest (a theme park), Eola Hills Wine Cellars, Farmer's Market, and Salem's Historic Grand Theatre. 7. McAllen, Texas

Now, you might think that living close to the border would be a problem for this Texan town, but on the contrary. McAllen may be located in the RIo Grande Valley just north of Reynosa, Mexico but it has the lowest crime rate of any city in America. I know it is grim to think about, but McAllen only had two murders in the entire year of 2013. That's low compared to other major cities. You may want to keep that in mind next time you are looking to relocate. McAllen's current population is 136,639.

6. San Jose, California

San Jose is considered to be the safest city in California to live in today. While other cities like San Francisco and Oakland are the home to violent crimes and drug deaths, San Jose keeps it pretty clean. Not only is the city fairly safe, but there are also lots of things to do in this city. There are places to visit such as Japantown, Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, Winchester Mystery House, and countless shopping malls. The population totals at 998,537.

5. Alexandria, Virginia

Alexandria is located just miles from Washington, D.C. Many residents have no trouble getting around town because they use the subway which is part of the Washington Metro System. Cary, North Carolina has less violent crimes taking place than any in North Carolina. Cary has much to offer like the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, the Carolina RailHawks soccer team, culture and art festivals, and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve. Cary's population totals out to 151,088.

3. Bellevue, Washington

Bellevue has the 22nd lowest violent crime rate in America. That may seem unlikely being that their population is growing by the second, but somehow this city has been unaffected by the high crime rates of the larger cities.
