Being in college, chances are most have experienced being the sober cab at one point or another and if you haven't you should probably offer before your friends start to get sick of your sh*t. I like being the sober cab because I know that I can get my friends home safe but I would be lying if I said that it doesn't get old.
With that being said, here's a list of 10 common things that probably go through your mind while being the sober cab for the night:
1. "Yes, I really am sober." Is it that hard to believe?
2. "No, I don't want a shot." How do you expect to get home if I were to take one?
3. "Wow, that was a really nice conversation, too bad they won't remember me in the morning." There is nothing more awkward than passing people in the halls on Monday morning when they have no idea that you actually met.
4. "Can we leave yet." The first hour or so is tolerable but there is only so much drunk and obnoxious that one person can handle in a night.
5. "Yes, I know I'm a saint." You don't have to tell me twice.
6. "No, I still don't want a shot." Stop asking.
7. "I love you too." It's nice to hear that your friends love you but after the sixth time it gets a little repetitive.
8. "If we aren't out of here in 5 minutes you're walking home." I mean I wouldn't really leave you...but I wish I could.
9. "You're going to regret that." It's tough to watch your friends do things that they think are a good idea the time when you know they will be kicking themselves for it in the morning.
10. "Please don't puke in my car." Just don't.
It's all about having each others backs. Sober cabbing is no ones top choice but someone has to do it so don't forget to mix it up once in awhile.
