I don’t think I can name one person who doesn’t love dogs, and if you’re one of them, well this article isn’t for you. I definitely think that dogs are some of the best animals ever, but they are by far the best pet you can own. I also think that dogs could easily replace a significant other.
Dogs will always be loyal to you, no matter if you are with them every second of the day or you leave them home alone for a few hours. Though they will be sad when you leave, when you return they are always so ecstatic to see you. Significant others need constant communication and will get mad if you don’t talk to them enough.
They always want to cuddle and, if you’re anything like me, that is the greatest thing you could ever know that whenever you come home you always have something to cuddle with. A significant other might not always want that physical contact.
They will protect you if something were to happen. I think that it’s true that a dog can sense danger so having one around would make me feel more comfortable. As for a human, well they can only be so intimidating when they growl.
Dogs kind of force you to exercise, because if you don’t take them for a walk they get stir crazy and start tearing your house apart. A lot of the time, boyfriends or girlfriends want to take you to restaurants and order desserts; it’s not really an ideal date to hit the gym.
Dogs are an endless source of entertainment; a lot of things they do in their daily routine are funny. As they chase their tails or roll around on the ground to scratch their back, pretty much everything they do is either hilarious or cute (except pooping on the floor of course). Humans can just get really annoying sometimes, not everything they do is great.
You will never be alone; dogs are seriously one of the best kinds of companions out there. They don’t ever leave your side and you can’t necessarily say that for a girlfriend or boyfriend. Don’t get me wrong, I love my boyfriend and I don’t *think* I would ever trade him in for a dog (though I do hint at how horribly I want one), but I have always said that if I had a puppy I wouldn’t "need" a boyfriend. However true or untrue that may be, a dog could love you exponentially more than any human ever could.
