For those of you who live for Shark Week, and request a week off work in the summer so you can sit on the couch watching marine biologists documenting experiments and the latest shark attack stories (I am guilty of this), then it's about that time of year where you start getting anxiety thinking about how close we are to Shark Week 2016.

On the other hand, if you happen to live under a rock and are merely unaware as to what Shark Week is, then shame on you. Each year, Discovery Channel hosts "Shark Week,"dating back to 1988 when the first episode aired. 24 hours a day, you can watch a variety of shark related episodes including: "Sharktacular," "Isle of Jaws," "Air Jaws: Night Stalker," "Deadliest Shark," "Jaws of the Deep" and get a glimpse at the world's favorite seal, Snuffy. If you've never watched "Shark Week" out of fear for sharks, remember this: sharks kill on average 12 people a year (by a case of mistaken identity), while humans kill more than 100 million sharks a year.

Furthermore, as we approach the final week before Shark Week 2016, there is much to do in the way of preparation. This includes baking ideas for throwing the best party or easy arts and crafts to sharkify your home:

1. Shark Jello Cup

These are super easy and quick treats that will make a Shark Week party sharktacular. You will need blue jello mix (red if you want to add blood), shark gummies (can be found at 7/11), transparent cups and any other candy you would like to add for decoration.

2. Cupcakes

This is your chance to be creative, as there are countless ways to decorate your cupcakes. Blue food coloring can turn your frosting into murky waters and fin cutouts turn your cupcakes into a dangerous swimming area.

3. FINtastic Shark Hats

For those who enjoy arts and crafts, this is an entertaining DIY project. Make one for yourself and be the coolest in town or make a bunch for all your party goers to wear and enjoy. With this easy tutorial, you can live every week like it's Shark Week.

4. Shark Marshmallow Pops

These fearsome predators become irresistible on a stick. With an easy step-by-step guide to creating these marshmallow pops, your party will go from awesome to jawsome.

5. Chips And Dip

Turn your chips and dip into “Shark Fins” and “Slow Swimmers.” Find this clever idea and others like it here.

6. Stock Up On Your Shark Week Gear.

Go crazy while the Discovery Channel store has all their Shark Week gear in stock.

If all this still isn’t enough to satisfy your shark needs, follow Shark Week on Snapchat and Twitter, for they always post creative ways to decorate and bake. Most importantly, don’t forget to tune into Discovery Channel this Sunday, June 26th— it’ll be the best Shark Week yet!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
