Here are 11 more acts of kindness to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting.
In order to combat the hatred in the world I want to spread kindness and love. I have already completed some of the acts in both this post and last week's post, but I will not be sharing my experiences of doing the acts until after I have written the entire lists.
However, I can assure you I have been smiling at strangers, receiving surprised looks when I open the doors for older men, and happy faces when I complete the acts.
17. For Eric Ivan Ortiz-Rivera, I will make art for someone.
Eric Ivan Ortiz-Rivera, 36, was known by his family and friends as artistic.
18. For Kimberly Morris, I will send surprise cards to my grandmas.
Kimberly Morris, 37, recently moved to Orlando so she could help her grandma and mom.
19. For Eddie Jamoldroy Justice, I will surprise my mom.
Eddie Jamoldroy Justice was 30 years old when he spent his last hour alive texting his mom.
20. For Darryl Roman Burt II, I will pay the toll for the car behind me.
Darryl Roman Burt II was 29 and a financial aid officer at Keiser University. He always wanted to positively impact the lives of others.
21. For Franky Jimmy Dejesus Velazquez, I will donate cat food to my local animal shelter.
Franky Jimmy Dejesus Velazquez was 50 years old, a professional Jíbaro folk dancer, and according to Facebook loved his pet cat.
22. For Mercedez Marisol Flores, I will forgive more.
Mercedes Marisol Flores was a 26-year-old studying literature and working at Target. Her dad said, "I forgive the boy because I cannot take that hate in my life. My life is more important than hate." We should all live by this.
23. and 24. For Simon Carillo and Oscar Aracena, I will send an anonymous housewarming gift.
Oscar A. Aracena-Montero, 26, and Simon Adrian Carrillo Fernandez, 31, recently bought a home together.
25. and 26. For Jonathan Antonio Camuy Vega and Yilmary Rodriguez Solivan, I will send thinking of you cards to old friends.
Jonathan, 24, and Yilmary, 24, were good friends. Jonathan died trying to protect Yilmary.
27. For Juan Chevez-Martinez, I will tip big next time I stay at a hotel.
Juan Cheves-Martinez, 25, was a hotel manager and was remembered as kind and loving.
