Dear You,
Surprise! I bet you never thought you would be hearing from me again, right? Wrong! Although you and my best friend have parted ways and ended things (finally), I have a few last things to say to you myself.
Starting off, I will say you both had some good times together! I remember when you first started dating her. She was head over heels for you and I couldn’t have been more excited for her to be happy. From hearing all about your date nights to letting her cry to me about how you hurt her feelings, I really do know everything that happened in your relationship — the good and the bad.
Although you had some great times being together, when the relationship ended, you put her on blast and that is so wrong of you. She really did love you. I am not saying you didn’t love her, because oh I know you were crazy about her, I read the texts. But to see her not only upset that things were ending between you both but also at all the hurtful, disgusting things you were saying to her to upset her even more, was horrible. Me having to see my best friend going through so much made me really see how she was so much better off without you. My best friend may not say it to you but I will.
You were horrible to her a good 90 percent of the relationship and if you ask me that is not okay. From you telling her she can’t wear a shirt without a cardigan to not even letting her spend the night with me, it went way too far. And honestly, that was just the beginning of how bad the relationship got.
When you cheated on my best friend, it took everything I had not to respond. You must not have realized how lucky you were to be dating the prettiest, most genuine, perfect girl out there. And you ruined it like that. Not only did she give you a second chance, only to watch you then somehow ruin it again. To see her that upset broke my heart; I never want to see her like that ever. When you sent her those rude texts, telling her how she means nothing and is worthless, just proved to me that you should never have had the privilege to even get to know her name.
I am not and will never be happy with you, but I am happy you are out of her life. I hope you have a good end to your senior year in high school while she is living it up in college. I am not sorry if this was mean, but it was the truth and sometimes we have to hear the truth to be able to move on. But also I feel as if you both have learned a lot from this experience/relationship. Not only did you both but, I did as well, learning what not to do in a relationship, but also being able to see some helpful things along the way- so in a very odd way thank you for that! There is a lesson in every negative situation and i now am able to see how that statment is true. I’ll be by her side when your name is nothing more than a whisper in her life. She’s my best friend and I mean it when I say I’ll love her always.
Sincerely,
The Best Friend
