To My Dear Friends,
As I sat in my apartment thinking about what I was going to write my article about, one of you texted me. This text was something common between us; it normally consisted of us talking about how much we hate something or someone. Your text had me thinking and it reminded just how lucky I am to not only have a friend like you but also all of my male friends, in my life.
While growing up, I was never the one who had many friends, but the ones I did, were girls. Now that we have all grown apart, I have moved on to find a new group of friends and they are primarily male. At first, I thought that I would be compared to as "one of the guys," but I am not, to you, I am just Jordan.
This is why I want to say thank you. Thank you for being you. As I grow older, I realize that more and more things aggravate me, and while sometimes, those things are you, you always let me rant about it in one way or another. You listen. Having a group of female friends makes you realize that at some point or another, you are all in a competition and have to do something to better or up the other's points. However, with you, you listen to my frustrations, you listen to my pain, you just simply listen.
You are hands down some of the best advice givers. Whenever life has me questioning it or whether I really just do not know what to do, I ask all of you and at least one of you normally has some kind of sensible answer (we know which one that is).
Your laughter is contagious. Your jokes are just plain bad, but somehow they still make me crack a smile. You include me in things that most wouldn't. You never make me feel like a third wheel. You put up with my loud mouth. You really are the best.
I don't tell any of you this nearly enough, but I love you. You make my heart full. You help me in more ways than you know and for that, I am forever grateful. You are quite honestly some of the best people I could have ever asked for in my life. Even though you don't know it, you all inspire me to become better in some aspect of life. You also all show me what real men are supposed to be. Just writing this article isn't even enough words to describe to you how lucky I am to have all of you in my life. There isn't anything that can describe to you that immense amount of love I hold for each of you.
Just know how wonderful life is while you're in the world.
