Dear Best Friend,
I have been blessed with your presence in my life since the day I was born. You have constantly cared for me, looked out for me, caught me when I have almost fallen, been my shoulder to cry on, someone I can confide in, trustworthy and my number one fan in everything that I do. I couldn’t ask for a better supporter or closer loved one in my life, than you.
You have been with me through everything.
My first scraped knee, my dog and best friend dying, getting my first C in a class, holding my hair while I threw up, hearing a boy tell me he didn’t feel the same way, playing awful in a game and you held my hand and hugged me tight when you dropped me off in the whole new world of college.
Without you, I would be nowhere near the person I am today.
Without your constant motivation and support throughout everything that has occurred, I would not have recovered the way I did and not overcome my problems, transforming me into who I am. Your love has given me everything; your warm hugs after a rough day at school, an amazing FaceTime conversation I needed, a kiss on the cheek.
It’s incredible that even now, while I am away at school, I know that if you received one phone call from me saying: “I need you here,” you would drop everything and come in a heartbeat.
You are my best friend Mom - and this is my oath to you.
I promise to love you until the day you die and longer, an infinite amount of love for you. I promise to care for you if you grow ill as you have done so many times for me. I promise to stay by your side when you need me the most. I promise to call you often and make you visit me as much as possible, because I want my children to see what an amazing grandmother they have. I promise to never let you stop being my best friend. I promise to endlessly be so grateful for all that you have done for me, Mom. I mean it, Mom.
Sometimes I don’t say it enough, sometimes I say it too much, and sometimes I know you need to hear it: I love you and you are not allowed to forget it. Thank you for all that you do, you beautiful, inspiring women. When I get older, I hope I can be like you.
Thank you for everything, Momma.
I love you.
