Ever since I can remember, my mom has been the first person I go to when I'm crying or when I'm happier than ever. She's the one who has my best intentions in mind and loves me with all her heart. She would drop anything for me, which is why we all need our moms as our biggest supporters and best friends, and the list could go on and on. Here are just a few reasons:
1. She loves you unconditionally.
No matter how badly I fail a test or how many times I yell at her, she is always there to give me a big hug and tell me she loves me when it's all over. In mom's eyes, you are her baby and can do no wrong.
2. She's your biggest fan and supporter.
It could be something as minimal as getting a goal during a game or walking across the stage at graduation, but you will always hear in the crowd, screaming, "That's my baby!" The immense amount of pride she feels toward you is like something no one else can give you. When someone tries to make you feel less than you are, whether it be a dumb boy or a mean teacher, she will be there to fight for you after giving you advice. As much as it might kill you to admit, moms know pretty much everything.
3. She understands you like no one else.
My mom understands my jokes almost better than anyone, which means she can make me laugh even when I didn't think I needed it. Moms have a sixth sense when it comes to their children, my mom not excluded, and she can always tell when I'm upset or worried about something, no matter how hard I try to hide. Deep down, I'm grateful she can see past it all because it makes it easier when I don't have to explain in words what's wrong. She always knows.
4. She's the one person you can trust from day one.
She gave birth to you; she'll never allow someone to hurt you, let alone do anything to compromise your happiness. No matter what you tell her, she will be there to support you through it all, taking your worries and making them her own to help ease your pain. Moms are your first best friend and the one you will go through the most with and come out the other side with a stronger relationship. We all go through the times during our teen years where we think we know everything, and we fight with our moms all the time. You'll soon realize that there is no one better to have as a best friend then your mom. Other people come and go, but a mom is there for life.
I'm proud to call my mom my best friend. I can tell her anything, and she never looks at me differently. The love my mom has taught me makes me believe in true love, and I'm eternally grateful for being blessed with the mom I have. I wouldn't trade her for anyone else, especially since I don't think anyone else could handle me. I love you, Mom; thank you for being the realest, most understanding and giving mother. Our relationship is so incredibly special to me, and I hope I can be half as good of a mother as you one day. I'm truly the luckiest girl in the world.
