My grandmother was recently put in the hospital because she was having some breathing problems, and you happened to be her nurse. I don't know you, and I was only visiting her for a short time, but I wanted to say thank you. I'm not sure if you were assigned at random to her room, or even how that sort of thing works honestly, but still, thanks.
The few times you came into her room I could see that you genuinely cared about her and her well-being.
Even when she would complain about how she looked (which was how I could tell she was at least feeling somewhat better), and despite any tiredness after a no doubt long day, you still managed to make small conversation and answer any questions she had to the best of your ability. I saw the concern/worry leave my grandfather’s face as you explained where her medicine would be coming from, what they were still holding her for, and that yes, if she wanted simple things like butter, salt and pepper, or syrup she would have to specifically ask for it with her meals.
I left before the end of your shift I think; you were still going over her list of questions when I had to leave. But you were also still just as cheery as when you first started. So again, from me to you and all other nurses, thank you.
